In the Name of the Father is a 1993 biographical courtroom drama film co-written and directed by Jim Sheridan. It is based on the true story of the Guildford Four, four people falsely convicted of the 1974 Guildford pub bombings, which killed four off-duty British soldiers and a civilian. The screenplay was adapted by Terry George and Jim Sheridan from the autobiography Proved Innocent: The Story of Gerry Conlon of the Guildford Four by Gerry Conlon.
The film was positively received by critics, and received seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor in a Leading Role (Daniel Day-Lewis), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Pete Postlethwaite), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Emma Thompson), Best Director, and Best Picture.

I was shocked when I watched this film. The movie and the music both so good.
Wow! What an excellent start to a brilliant film, In The Name Of The Father, so much emotion, passion, and action, got me gripped straight away. Everyone should watch a film like this, to realise what power in the wrong hands can do.
Everything that music should be. Angry and lyrical. Iconoclastic. Beautiful. Gavin Friday, what a talent. L.

While I have all the respect in the world for Hanks,Lewis should have won best actor for this.

SEBAB SANGAT TRAGIS MENURUT SAYA. DALAM TEKS BAHASA INDONESIA, saya sangat terkesan dengan sebuah kalimat saat mereka diperlakukan tidak adil, sebuah TEKAD.. bahwa dibelakang mereka ada ribuan bahkan jutaan manusia yang ingin mencari keadilan, jika tidak salah ingat.
