I honestly think the last 40 minutes of this film is one of the most romantic sequences ever shot. It’s all about Jim’s sheer dedication to get back to the people he loves….by any means necessary. Absolutely brilliant sequence. And the music is the icing on the cake.

I agree.. I also like to think that it’s the completion of his characters story arch where he starts out an innocent afraid guy and he turns into a rageful “infected” to do what he has to do

This rage virus is the WORST! In the walking dead it take a couple or hours or less than a day before you become a walker. Here. The rage virus takes less than 30 seconds before the host becomes a raging zombie that runs at top speed. I'd sooner take resident evil zombies or voodoo zombies from state of decay, then these fucking THINGS!
