I’m so sorry to hear this. The pain of losing a father is so hard! I lost my father to cancer almost 6 months ago. This hymn was one of his favorites and he requested it played at his funeral. May I suggest another song that helps when grief takes over? A lady at my dad’s church sent it to me after he passed. Scars in Heaven by Casting Crowns.

My 98 year old Gram passed in January and she loved this hymn. I didn’t know it until her funeral. It brings me peace now.

I’m praying for you to have peaceful nights rest and for God to send you a friend that will be there for you.

How precious it is to know that these loving relationships are meant to be forever….all because of what happened in that Garden on Easter Sunday! I too recall my late mother singing that hymn in Church.

After I lost my husband and I went to church after 2 weeks, and we sang this song , oh my God , I was just crying as I was singing, I touched my soul, I was devastated to lose my husband of 31 years he was my whole world, that song gave me a kind of peace , like I was with Jesus Christ on the garden strolling and talking, poring out my pains listening as we walked in the garden telling me it’s ok am here for you . Growing up in choir, songs like these I sang without paying much attention to the words. But when I got born again at age 45 (17 years ago), the Lord started speaking to me daily. The Holy Spirit's constantly speaking to us, and we know that Jesus is coming to rescue/rapture us soon. This morning the Lord told me to write down a message and read it on my video which I started by singing this song. My name is Terry, but years ago, He told me it was Tarry. Hebrews 10:37-39. Your voice is beautiful. Maranatha.

My grandma use to sing this song while she was cooking or cleaning. She had polo limped around but she didn't let it get to her! She kept on canning fruits and veggies, making jams, and etc!! Strong godly woman!!

I was raised singing this song, around the piano on Sunday nights with the family and dad on the violin. It warms my heart every time I hear it. May the Lord bless you as you your gift from God of such a beautiful voice!

When I was real real real sick with migraines on when I get into my room you know turn out the lights shut the door and turn the AC where it's very cold when I could I would sing the song and I mean I sang it all the time and I mean I had migraines everyday and I tried to work you know try to be a mother and a wife and it was pretty bad but that song gave me such peace and it got where my even my husband like for me to sing it to him and make him cry make me cry and everybody cried beautiful in this person that sang it is did a great job sounds almost like my voice is a matter of fact lol I mean it really does a thing right along with her great she's great I don't even know who she is it's just came across my feet as I was listening to a couple other old gospel songs so thank you young lady for sharing your talent and praising the Lord so that we might be blessed I mean how cool is that

So sorry for your loss, as I can identify with it. I just lost my precious mother a week ago yesterday. And yes, this beautiful hymn was played at her funeral this past Wednesday. I have peace knowing that she was saved & spent the majority of her life serving the Lord. I miss her something awful, but at the same time I know that she is happy, healed, & made whole again & I'll see her again one day. She's asleep in Jesus. Praise the Lord for that!

She requested that a friend we both share play In The Garden at her funeral, and knowing how well I sing, she once made the passing request that I be the one to sing it. This song has helped me to practice and feel comfortable knowing that I can truly do it justice and honour her memory to the best of my ability by singing this for her tomorrow on the 15th. Just in practicing for her, I am almost in tears knowing that she is now with the Master and Maker, and that she’ll be watching as I do my very best to make her proud and give out all I can through the gift of singing that God gave me.

My uncle passed 2days ago, and this was his favorite song, and hes been a close friend of my father since they were young teens, and now my father will sing this song in my uncle Gregs funeral service, it makes me cry specially that i was present on my uncle while he was fighting his life in the hospital to live and the moment his life ended. A beautiful hymn from my daughter in heaven

This is right there with Amazing Grace for me. But the closer we move towards HIS day A WALK IN THE GARDEN is becoming more a part of my heart. I feel HIM and know that HE is within me and I in HIM. SO brothers and sisters WE will see you soon. Very soon . Keep the lamp on continuously. This year .

My beautiful and treasured mother loved this song...she passed away on 4/23/23...i can just picture my mom and God walking hand in hand in the garden...while i am beyond sad I am happy that she is in Gods care.

Absolutely beautiful... If we all would lift up his name... we need to be real with God... thats what he wants amen... we were created to fellowship with him IN THE GARDEN.... BUT we feel as if we aren't good enough..... but like you said, we need to get real with our Heavenly Father! Tell him exactly what we are feeling.. Thank you for your tender heart.. bless you.

I lost my Dad yesterday. A comforting song

As a child I was terrified by this song which my grandmother would sing as we passed by the cemetery. Now as an adult, I feel the beauty of the song which incidentally was played and sung at a funeral 24 March 2022. One could absolutely feel the closeness of God as it was played.

I lost my wife to this song every Sunday sermon….at a care home….Miss her dearly as we held hands and sang together..may she sing again when we meet….😢

Brings back memories of when my mother and sister used to play records of George Beverly Shea, and Tennessee Ernie on the old record player. One of the blessings of being old... My Dad and my brothers and I were all in our church choir. This song is one we sang frequently. It brings back such memories.

This song brings me comfort and peace and cry thinking of my most wonderful kindest late mum. The kindest most caring human being. So proud to be her daughter.

My grandpa died recently and this song reminds me so much of him 😭😭😭😭

The night my father passed away, back in 2006, I woke up singing this wonderful hymn just as my brother in law came to tell me something is happening with dad.

My mom would hum this song everyday n night. She was good mom. She helped me when I did not deserve it. I always reminded her of that. She thought I was good person. Thank you mom.

Not sure what an angel sounds like but I think she is close

I am singing this song with you,as I wait for the passing of my dearest sister in law Terry,,,, Please everyone pray that God reveals himself to Terry,as she is not yet saved....I pray for the salvation of her soul....I asked her daughter last night,if her mum wakens up, would they both pray.... Come into my heart lord Jesus, come in today,, come in to stay, come into my heart lord Jesus........ Terry was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last month,and given weeks to live,,,she has just had a few weeks,,,, please the urgency of Terry's salvation is all I can think of daily....... Please Lord save her...Amen and Amen ❤️🙏❤️💖🙏

Sorry for your loss my mother passed away 3 months ago and she also loved singing alongside although she couldn’t hear now she’s fully restore and she’s resting in Gods presence ❤

God is all we need. Nothing can make us whole like the word of God.
