Yes and no, I think RP luffy was kinda dead in the water, but P Luffy was already a deck with a massive target on his back, the real threat for OP05 is pretty much Sakazuki. P luffy aint getting touched and I feel confident about that.

This is SO fucked up! Not only did I just buy many of these cards, but WHY is Nami banned?!?!?! I can sort of understand Dadan, but Nami?!?!?!? And what about ST-10 which comes with 4 Nami's???? Now we can't even play that deck out of the box! This is SO unhealthy for the game and for new players getting into it! I legitimately feel afraid at this point to buy new cards in preparation for the new sets coming because now I'm afraid I'll spend a couple hundred dollars just to have Bandai ban my new cards in the middle of the night! This is just SO fucked up...

Big yes big no. Was Nami a shocker? Yes . But this banlist for me is signaling that they are finally taking the tournament results more seriously WB is just silly and will be so far very overtuned anytime red is good. And as for Nami, Law abused her and in Zoro she searches just about the entire deck. I would rather see hits for the health of the game than to let us buy everything and just sack it then. But lastly, the value in the decks are not the Nami. But I do feel your frustration pal : [

Honestly so sad about Nami, ive just gotten into the game and st10 was going to provide my first copies of Nami. was so excited to play new luffy with strawhats theme and shes gone before i even get it, after ive preordered. also just seems strange that Japan's meta is so different? Is there a detailed analysis on why that is? Feels so strange two have to different banlists for the same game.

That's a whole convo for a new video or article, however I can say Nami was going off WAYYY too hard. That being said at this point you either attacked Law and Zoro as leaders and banned 3 favorites or you sacrificed a linchpin. We'll get another Strawhat searcher. It's just impossible not to. @@UniXTCG Yeah I hear that. I've been a Magic player for years now and have been having a fantastic time with one piece thus far, and lynch pins being taken is an all too familiar experience. Definitely hoping for more conversation about the difference in metas, I'm hoping in the future they unban cards once there are other decks dominating and the raw carpool of the game actually supports multiple archetypes having genuine merit. The amount of cards released at this point is so small compared to other tcgs that have gone for years, and with bandais close attention they hopefully will realize the holes in design space for archetypes.

@@UniXTCG The earliest we could get a straw hat searcher is either in the supplmental set early next year, or OP-07. Banning Nami is kind of ridiculous and should be reversed imo. Curly I get, because it's a searcher than can find a searcher (buggy, nami) and also in zoro it attacks for 5k for 1 don (assuming 1 don on zoro.)

That 3 Captains Deck coming out has 4 copies of Nami in it iirc. I feel bad for any new player that thought they could get started with it. As for the meta? I fear that this is going to just cause everyone to play Yellow a whole lot more and it's not gonna be fun.

I think everyone that was cooking before gonna show up with anti yellow outside the red that kept it in check. Yellow definitely is the new high roll but we got a card pool with 4 sets currently. Set 5 definitely makes it better but people cooking been eating and WB gone makes that meal eatable to contend vs yellow now.

My only thing with this ban is that non-meta red decks get hurt because of the nami ban. Red straw hat cards are so good and is just fundamental in any red deck. So a hit to the huge consistency boost that is nami can really be felt. As someone that wanted to make vivi work this really limits my options/desire to make the deck work.

RP Luffy doesn't stand a chance. kinda sucks that if you sleeve up ST-10 right out of the box it's already an illegal deck. That's a failure of a product.

It's rough for me to fully agree because these products are printed about 5 months ahead of time, but banlists tend to happen in real time. It's incredibly hard to know the problems of a format at the time where you are designing new product (way further back than 6 months)

@@UniXTCG yeah it's just unfortunate circumstances. same with the Dadan AA coming out in April through premium bandai. I wish they started with just banning Dadan to hurt Law and Zoro's consistency searching for searchers or Otamas/Makinos before outright banning Nami too. Even more unfortunate since she has lots of AAs as well with a new one coming as an SP in op05. it's sad to imagine one of your AAs in a box of op05 can be a total dud

RP Luffy doesn't care much about this banlist... A normal build deck play none or maximum Marco and Is mainly purple as me... I Will Just kick 3 Marco for other cards

I feel like this is a temp ban until OP05 since the new leaders outshine Whitebeard pretty substantially. They will probably unban after

I was a bit upset at first but i rebuilt my deck and am actually doin better without the search..dont get me wrong it would still be nice

With these bans and restrictions Bandai has effectively killed Zoro, Law, Whitebeard, and Rebecca. Whitebeard deserved the ban, but Zoro and Law could of just hit been hit with the Curly ban and that's it. You also kill Rebecca, because her best matchups are red decks, and she has a terrible time vs yellow. Katakuri will undoubtedly become Tier 0, and I hope instead of restricting/banning 10c Mom they will go the opposite direction and unrestrict some of the red cards (Nami, Rad Beam, Both Marcos) and see what happens.

It doesn't kill rebecca, but allows the deck to run more yellow hate cards/combos without worrying about the red match up. Rebecca's will be running more removal events(red roc,thousand worlds, and trueno bastardo) and cost reducers (hajrudin/10c kuzan) to put 8c kata and 10c mom in removal range. The match up is still annoying because it's a grind fest, but it doesn't favor yellow as heavy as you think.

As an ace player yea we caught another stray n it's sad Marco was who we had to rely on n now we just gotta brew n figure out what we can use to take the Xtra 3 card space. We got izzo n buggy so I think we should be ok

Yellow dominant format gonna be so ass but this list should've dropped sooner is my only gripe mid format when people already planned for events sucks.

I don’t get how people think nothing beats yellow. I guess because they haven’t tried any other decks besides red? Or play tested anything. Plenty of things can beat yellow. Most of them were kept out of the meta by the red decks though.

They should have just restricted Nami searcher to 2 and see how that goes than outright ban her. I play Vivi and this hurts her in getting straw hat cards which are mainly the much needed event cards, so now I need to change her to be more viable with Ingaram running Alabasta cards with taking a risk in bottoming my gum gum red roc and three thousand worlds.

Problem Is Law...monocopy=infinite loop They should have straight banned Zoro and Law leader together with Whitebeard...It would have caused a Major shock to some people but Better this than this banlist AND Law and Zoro existence still limit the future cards production as Is happening because Nami mill...Reading Blue cards It Is obvious they are playing around Nami that Is harmful for the whole blue

@@willburning6955 It's really weird that they're ok with banning whitebeard leader, but not zoro or law which have been around a whole set longer and will still continue to see play due to how good and nonrestrictive their leader effects are. Law and zoro also limit future card design due to how generic their effects are. I wonder if banning 9c white beard along with the marco hit just wasn't enough to nerf whitebeard with their internal play testing so they decided to ban him instead.

It is as Willburning stated, even at one, if law waits til its shambles turn to play them you still have the same results, just less consistent which makes an unhealthy RNG based deck

It's a lil more complex than this. A set is printed about 5 to 6 months prior, it's designed even further in advance than that. It's hard for them to know their banlist changes 2 sets prior. And would you rather them to ban it right after we all buy instead? I feel like the community is upset either way : o

I think Americans are crybabies. Errata's would have solved the issues instead of bans. How you going to cripple law, which is a skill based deck

Hmmmm you can be skill-based AND overturned. The skill in law is all in surviving until you are making plus 1 interactions that no other deck is capable of. In a game where people usually go +1 in their draw for the turn early, Law was about to go +2 a turn and in some cases even +3. Combine it with the fact that Laws biggest adversaries that had enough destruction to render it near useless were gatekept by the other meta contenders is a thing as well

"that is going to make a lot of diversity" like this Katakuri is playing Charlotte Cracker, while this one doesn't?
