IN SEARCH OF MENSTRUAL FREEDOM | TANZANIA
In this video, we summarize the project that we carry out in Tanzania on menstrual hygiene. The project consists of two parts.
During the first part, we held menstrual education conferences for students from different schools in Arusha and Kondoa areas.
In the second, we offered feminine hygiene workshops to young people and women where we taught step by step how to sew reusable and sustainable pads by hand.
Also, throughout the month, we carry out the creation of a locally manufactured sustainable menstrual kit called "Mwezi Kit" that we distribute to all the girls in the schools.
The main objective of the project is to empower Tanzanian girls through access to information and products in order to avoid school absenteeism due to menstruation. In addition to contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals such as health and well-being, gender equality and quality education.
