Damn, at first I thought it was one of those silly anime but actually it turned out to be pretty decent. I guess it's Chinese anime? I live in South Korea where the beauty standard is insane. It's a dual edge sword. To openly judge is nice because you get to see the window of what the people are thinking about (wether you want to do something about it is upto you lol). On the other hand it can cause disdain especially among the younger people (teens, obsessive young adults and such). Another pro is that ppl in the streets on average are cleaner by a certain degree over societies that don't have a open judgement on appearance (making it feel easier to go out on whatever).

In real life this nonsense would not be sustainable. Its easier to become ugly than it is to become beautiful.
