In Full: Prime Minister announces new COVID-19 lockdown rules

Boris Johnson has set out his "conditional plan" to ease the coronavirus lockdown, lifting restrictions on exercise and work.
In a pre-recorded address to the nation, the Prime Minister said the government wants to "encourage people to take more and even unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise" - provided they stick to social distancing guidelines and stay two metres apart.
And in a bid to kickstart the economy, Mr Johnson said anyone who cannot work from home - such as those in construction and manufacturing - should be "actively encouraged" to go to work from Monday.

He isn't the only one, just watch how they all react under scrutiny handed out by Piers Morgan, and some won't even go on the show. Whatever Government, The Health Minister has never studied medicine or Hospital management never been a nurse or a Doctor, the Transport Minister has never worked in transport and so on, they've never had proper jobs. Look at the way they all throw large sums of money around, wasting it with no consequences to them at all. If this is a democracy why don't they ask the people if they want to go to war or have HS2 demolishing the countryside because they think it may be a good idea and it may make them look good. Just look at how they handled Brexit and now the Pandemic. I've said for many years that we don't have the people any more but recently some one on air said quite simply why this was the case. He said they have all been Masquerading as Politicians whilst hiding behind the decision makers of the EU. Now it is their turn be decisive they fall short. The only change we'll see will be worse than before.

Boris Johnson did not want to contemplate a draconian response. When they did act, ministers found they were behind in a global race for critical resources such as ventilators, testing capacity and PPE. The failure to move decisively to suppress the pandemic lies at the root of the mess. Rather than admit responsibility for being behind the curve, ministers refuse to apologise and instead seek to delegitimise the media for asking questions about why Britain failed. It is ludicrous to even begin to defend the actions taken by this dreadful Conservative Government.

From Monday, people who cannot work from home are being actively encouraged to go to work instead of being told to only go if they must. But they should avoid public transport if at all possible. From Wednesday, people are being encouraged to take unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise and even play sports, but only with members of their household. Visiting and sunbathing in local parks will also be allowed as will driving to other destinations. But social distancing rules will still have to be obeyed with bigger fines for those who break them. Primary schools may begin to reopen by June 1 at the earliest along with the phased reopening of shops. But secondary schools are not expected to reopen before the summer holidays. Some pubs, restaurants, hotels and other public places could begin to reopen in July at the earliest 'if and only if the numbers support it'. A new Covid Alert System is being set up determined mainly by the reinfection rate and the number of cases. The alert levels will be one to five and the higher the level, the tougher social distancing measures will have to be. The PM said the UK had been in Level Four but 'we are now in a position to begin to move in steps to Level Three'. Level one would mean coronavirus is no longer around while Level Five would be the NHS being overwhelmed by a fresh outbreak. 👇Thank me later 😊

Anyhow god knows when this will all blow over we can’t be sitting around at home all day it may take upto 2 years or more we don’t know the government can’t keep us locked in for that so yeah

No facts just deaths. 0 to 15 age group 3 deaths in 1 million. 15 to 35 about 40 deaths around 6 million in this age group. Worst in higher age groups. 5% who are infected will be critical and half will died. There is no testing in the population to see how many have been infected nor any testing for the antibody. The Government figures are guess work using maths.

Agreed. People seem to think this is a lark. Sit back and criticise, moan. Personal responsibility and discipline are needed to overcome the virus but also the threat to our daily routines. We cannot relax and become used to not working. We have to get back slowly and surely to the lives we were living before. Otherwise the consequences will be catastrophic. We have to be brave. There is so much at stake. There are no encouraging or supportive words in any of these comments. It's time to show our mettle yet people seem intent on pointing fingers, expressing fear (which is contagious) and feigning ignorance. Not exactly a recipe for overcoming adversity.
