For the ones saying the click is annoying... it is until you are up in stage and you can't even hear your thoughts hahaha the click for musicians is the best way to keep track of whatever you are playing

we call this metronome
For those new to click tracks/in ear monitors, it serves a lot of purposes. Keeps band in sync, keeps Taylor on time with band. Overcomes crowd noise.Think about what the basic physics as well. Light travels faster than sound, so while Taylor is standing at the front of the stage 50 yards out in front of the band, if she were relying on hearing them as the audience does, her vocals would be out of sync with the band as she’s now far away. The goal is to have the music hit the audiences ears all in unison, so having the click track is a must. Nothing new here, people have been using click tracks since in ears existed and even drummers with headphones are hearing the metronome. All part of the show. Very cool and thanks for posting this

As a working musician, this is how my in ears sound when performing. It’s great to hear everything so well when you are on stage……makes it so easy to perform.
If Taylor used the metronome mix to run everyday with when she was rehearsing for the tour, I can totally see that happening. I just used this to run with and the metronome is bomb for keeping your pace. I can't wait for the entire concert to be finished!! Thank you for this!

this is so amazing!! i would LOVEE to hear the in-ear mix for august/illicit affairs/my tears ricochet if you plan on making more❤️
The fact that this is actually anxiety reducing for musicians 😂 I can confirm
the one single change I would make is the vocals - you probably meant to represent the mic return feed she has in her ears, but the actual IEM mix would have the first second or two of each line, particularly after long instrumental breaks, to make sure she's on key.

Thanks SO much for making this! I'm so curious: what do you consider when making these? I'm thinking of things like deciding when/when not to use count/ins, when to start them, and other things such as whether or not to specify the upcoming song section (I've heard in-ear mixes that do), which instruments to emphasize, plus other considerations I'm sure I'm not aware of? As a classically trained singer who's only performed non-classically on small stages and has never used in-ear monitors, these basically take the place of a conductor. I'm sure a LOT of thought goes into these mixes!

When there are thousands of people in an echoey stadium and your band members are far behind you, and you have to remember steps and dance moves, it’s definitely needed. You can’t hear anything and won’t be in time with anything without it
@corynm92
5 ай бұрын
It's one of those things that you get used to. Like, you hear it, but you don't, if that makes sense. It just blends with all the other sounds, so it's not perceived as annoying ticking but a helpful tool.
I wonder what kind of a countdown, if any, there is for the parts where she is speaking like in the intro where she says “oh hi!” And when she says “hello *city name* we have arrrriveeeddd… “ and then asking them to prove if they know the lyrics
Reminds me of marching band practice when the director would hit that thing soooo loud over and over and over and over

The in-ear monitor play a crucial role in helping musicians stay in sync during live performances. It's like having a personalised audio guide tailored to each performer's needs. They hear specific instruments, vocals, and cues that help them stay on beat. Hope this helps :)
