there are 16 combinations of the 4 dip switch positions on each iem, given you set them identically on each side - if you want to get crazy and set left and right independently, there are 256 combinations in total. have fun.

As someone else pointed out before: KZ and CCA are the same company, which is why you get that KZ cable quality.

I have a Google Pixel 5a which DOES have a 3.5mm headphone jack and a fingerprint reader on the back. I will be sad when I have to upgrade.

I have Redmagic 8 pro with headphone jack. Anything else can use usb c to 3.5mm adapter.

I have an Xperia mark4 with 3.5 jack and I do run shit off of it when I'm not bothered to pull out my dap.

Nerdy comment for those that care... it's 16 different combinations with 4 switches. It's 2^n where n is the number of switches you have to play with. So 2^4 = 16 in this case

Even more generalized it's y^n where y is the number of unique "states" you have and n is the total number of items you can set to a state. So for instance if you had the english alphabet with its 26 letter and say wanted a 4 letter word you would do: 26^4 = 456,976 Obviously not all of them would be valid words but you can make over 450K unique combinations in a 4 letter word

@@jb678901 wouldn’t say so, it’s not obvious anyway, usually would just count every single configuration, and yes there would have to be a formula for it but I had just never considered before what it might be. Plus, if it was in fact basic you probably wouldn’t have started by calling your own comment nerdy. Take a compliment man, it’s given with good intention 🙂

I have the cheapest of the bunch of the Redmi/POCO Devices that still has a DECENT SOUNDING 3.5mm Headphone Jack at only ~$135 The Redmi Note 13 4G and Paired with the Moondrop Chu 2, Apple Music Lossless Sounds Pretty Fantastic on a budget set of devices 😅 Edit: Also Adding the 7hz 71 USB DAC if I need more volume and a bit more detail when listening to music.

I think if it can be added to all IEM's without causing a detriment, a basic EQ setting like this should be common... if you buy someone a IEM that is not about changing settings as and when you can sit with them and go through until it fits their listening preference and then they can just leave it where it is. Never have to worry about when it's in a app and they uninstall or update the app and the setting reset... it's set and left then

Now try their 20 dollar version. I’m so mad I’ve spent good money in the hundreds on headphones for multiple reasons and the 20 dollar (not bass upgrades) represents EXACTLY what my ears expect to hear. I mix music with these and the car test is EXACTLY what I heard from the headphones

KZ Castor in Ear HiFi Earphone 2DD Dynamic High-end Tunable IEM

I have a phone with 3.5mm. Android gang stand tall!

FINALLY

cca rhapsody + fiio Q11 + tripowin C8 4.4mm banger!

I got these for $30.00, not $50.00, back when they first came out, and the first set was DOA, so I emailed KZ/CCA and they sent me a second pair and they are tuned beautifully. The treble timbre can sound unnatural on certain tracks, and the fit is way too big for my ears and not enjoyable for long listening sessions. I'd give them a 6/10. Also, there's no overcoming dat bass.

That is the exact same instruction piece of paper I got with the KZ ZS10 PRO 2. It is so silly. There 3 switches are doing "up 1 Level" and one switch is reducing something by 1 Level. Obliviously being passiv it can only ever reduce something not really "up" it. And it actually has the same super shity wire as the KZ ZS10 PRO 2.

Now that actually might explain something, does up mean less on these Chinese makes? Because there are a set called the Raptgo bridge where this seems to be the case, when the ‘increase treble’ switch goes up, it actually calms the high frequencies back and makes it a much nicer listen.

I run the MoonDrop MIAD with a 3.5mm & 4.4mm. The phone is surprisingly cromulent.

These are newer than the Castor. The Castor is way more bassy, Rhapsody has more treble. Castor is more comfy because it's smaller and the nozzle is shorter. Castor is easier to drive. Rhapsody has better treble, and the bass is tamed from the Castor.

@@Qimchiy Heya, thanks so much for your thoughts! I just got the Castor just for kicks to experience the switching for myself. Kinda works, at least to my non-golden ears. I'm not a super basshead, but I do want to feel the lows a bit. Maybe I'll keep these Rhapsody's in mind in case I get an itch in future. Someone mentioned that CCA = KZ. Can you confirm or deny? @@joesatchton212 KZ and CCA are pretty much the same company. Skip the Rhapsody save up for the CCA Hydro. Rhapsody is too similar I'd say to the Castor bass, it is just an increased treble version of the Castor bass for the most part. Good day!

Fyi...CCA is an offshoot of KZ.

For those who want to buy these. DO NOT REMOVE THE NOZZLE FILTER. They tame the treble real hard so unless you replace is with another fabric filter. Just don't. Metal filter will make it worse.

@Qimchiy I bought a pair and removed the nozzle filter and mesh screen. I added a 500 and 300 filter, and it gave me almost the same sound as stock.

@@hazi5961my nozzle filter fell in because I accidentally pushed it too hard trying to clean the eartips with a q tip. Metal filters make the treble harsh/pierce. Now I use a single layer of 500 and it's all good.

Get those "butthole ridge" tips, flip them inside-out and prepare to be amazed...! Those are KZ starlines.
