You don't want to miss the Livestream on October 26th @ 9pm ET. 🙂 Dallas has a big announcement for you. Now when we say that, we’re concerned you’re skipping over the word “big.” Or that you think it just refers to a new gift item or cool update. Or that you can miss the first 5 minutes of this Livestream. Nope. None of those. So read it again: Dallas has a big announcement for you.

I pray as Luke plays this part, that God overhelms him with his love and that God's amazing love is revealed through Luke playing the part of Judas. Thank you for making Chosen!!!

Judas wasn’t evil, he’s the epitome of those who like the idea of Jesus, but they never really get who Jesus really is. They want the benefits but not the cross. Those who remain in the world even after an encounter with Jesus. Judas tried to keep on foot in the world, never totally sold out to Jesus. He never repented of what he did he felt guilt and regret but not repentance.

Also..Jesus made it clear that many will say Lord, Lord and he will say, depart from me I never knew you....the same with scores of people that go to church but worship only the idea of Christ. I believed in Christ but lived 'the world'. Once I cried out to God " am I being deceived"? He answered with the true Gospel, on TV, then immediately after, an encounter! During that encounter I remember thinking...its all real, every word!... So make sure your following Jesus...forgive all, don't judge, give and let the Holy Spirit change you as you read the living word of God.

You got to remember that Judas was more than likely threatened as well not just bribed they probably told him "hey we can come an arrest Jesus an kill those defending him including you or you can give him up and we'll spare your life an even give you some silver to drown your sorrows with"... I think he was afraid just like most people and wasn't ready to die for Jesus like some of the other disciples were an did but that is also why the Bible is so credible as well because people died for the testimony of Jesus Christ ...most would have lied or denied our Lord to save their skin just like Judas did.

I think we already saw a hint of the show's angle of how Judas' betrayal will be portrayed: In the scene talking to his mentor, Judas hates having deceived the land owner. But the moment his mentor gives him some cash and time off, his demeanor changes. I've seen this happen a lot in politics, and I have been just as guilty: In exchange for some food, a party, or a $600 stimulus check, people give certain politicians their vote. They then get angry that these politicians are nothing but crooks and in it for themselves. Just imagine all the Blessings we deny ourselves by not having 100% faith in the power of The Creator of everything.

I really don't think he took it so far...he just didn't know it would have such a huge ripple effect. it was just thirty pieces of silver and if JESUS wanted to defend himself he could have escaped. Fending off the Pharisees was nothing new and pilate gave him so many opportunities to save himself but he chose not to. Speaks to JESUS' resolve to lay down his life...I'm not justifying what he did but I believe like many of us, Judas was simply very shortsighted and didn't see his betrayal leading to such greivous consequences especially when he had a front seat to some of JESUS' most volatile confrontations and seeing how he skirted all of them. He rationalised that it was not a big deal.

Judas served as a cautionary tale for everyone, and Luke being excited by having the opportunity to portray the Chosen’s take on Judas’ life leading up to his ultimate betrayal (in my opinion) does good work for the Kingdom by portraying Judas just like all the other Characters in The Chosen: real human beings making real human decisions. While all of us want to be as faithful as Peter and Zealous as Z, we must also look at Judas, someone who walked, talked, ate, and bore personal witness to Jesus Christ yet STILL fell to sin knowing that we could fall in that same trap, that same greed. Jesus didn’t forgive Judas because Judas betrayed Him, or else we would suffer the same fate. Judas died unforgiven because he fell into self-loathing and committed suicide before he could repent. The last thing we Christians need to do is say that God would never forgive us for what we’ve done. God’s Grace and Mercy is infinite, and we must acknowledge that even though we don’t deserve forgiveness, it’s always there. All we have to do is humble ourselves and ask.

I mean, the way they introduced Judas is something special. It was never done this way, nobody even thought about bringing out that human element of Judas. I remember when we saw the scene with the dealer and apprentice for the first time I was like, is that a flashback? Looks like one. Then there was that conversation in the pub where apprentice talks about doing something remembered throughout history and it dawned on me. My wife didn't know even though she was the one who said we didn't see Judas yet just before we started the last episode. So when the big revelation came she was like ooooooooh! And I really enjoyed the little foreshadowing with buying someone's field, such a nice touch. The writing on this show is on the highest level as is all the production and acts. I think what you're doing will change the way Bible-based media is done.

I'll never understand the villain take on Judas - he's the ironic character. Everyone hates Matthew. He's the tax collector who has a true conversion but still nobody trusts him. But ALL the disciples trust Judas with the money! He was probably the most handsome, most well-liked, the "anti-Matthew" which makes it like Luke is saying, he's a tragedy. He's any of us. We get tempted and can fall away and make a royal mess. It's perfect that Luke is likeable and smiles, he's trustworthy, then like we probably would, he blows it when it counts. Which is sad but it's a lesson for us. He could have gone to Jesus with his doubts but kept up appearances....

Many saints pray and if Jesus said on the cross to forgive those who took off his skin, who hurt him, why not Judas in that group? To love your neighbor as yourself. He knew he gave money back, he knew he was sorry, he knew he did the worst thing and I feel his "better not born" was because he knew how his history would be remembered. He wants us to be forgiving and ask for it, but as Terese of Avila, I will hope and pray he did later.

You can’t know how moved I am by you showing us the humanity of Judas and how great this actor’s portrays Judas. So intriguing to watch this character develop. Judas had to have been loved by many, including all the disciples, and even Jesus even though He knew Judas would betray Him. Such a lesson for us to learn that even of one of Jesus’ disciples could be tempted to that extreme, how can we think we are above or immune to temptation. It makes me so sad to think of all the times I have let Jesus down and yet there is always forgiveness and redemption. Is it possible that in the moments before Judas took his last breath there repentance, forgiveness and redemption? And I wonder if that will be part of the story you tell. I'm so happy I watched this interview. When I saw the episode where Judas was introduced, I was extremely upset that this nice (and Biblically knowledgeable) guy was Judas. He had been talking to his friend over a meal about right and wrong, and I thought the friend was Judas. But no...the good guy was Judas. I thought, How in the world are they going to play this out? So, I feel better now that some of the background was discussed. And, yes, I can see that Luke Dimyan is a good choice even though it breaks my heart. I've always agonized over the real Judas ending his life instead of going before the Lord Jesus and asking His forgiveness. I've only recently come to terms with it. I'm looking forward to Season 3. I used to wonder about this, too. How could he walk so closely with Jesus (in person!) for years and be so lost? I thought I was a believer for most of my life… from 10-15 years old, and until I was 36…until one moment when the word of God pierced my heart and I understood my wickedness compared to God’s holiness and for the first time, understood repentance. My heart was changed in that moment. Looking at Judas in that context, I finally realized, “he didn’t know he didn’t believe. He didn’t know he didn’t understand. He never really knew who Jesus was. He struggled and probably didn’t even know *why* he couldn’t “do it right”.” I thought I was a lousy Christian for decades- that it was hard, and painful, and confusing. No matter how much I wanted to follow Jesus- I didn’t know how. Of course, now I know I was doing it without the Spirit of God in me to guide me. The life of Judas shows me how closely you can follow Jesus and still be so. very. lost. *I* was Judas. And I am grateful that Jesus opened my eyes to Who He Is before it was too late for me and for my children. I can’t wait to see Luke play this role and make us have love and compassion for Judas. I hope it makes all of us more compassionate toward people who are difficult to love or who have done things that are hard to forgive. Judas was born to do what he did. God used him to get Jesus to the cross. Had he not betrayed Jesus, God would have made another way, but it’s sort of striking to consider that Judas is someone the world loves to hate, but our redemption is due, in part, to his betrayal of Jesus. Of all the wicked things that happen in the world- we ask “why?!! Why did this have to happen?” In this case, it was for us. That just occurred to me, and it makes me even more sad for the real Judas… because there could have been redemption for him. There could have been forgiveness for his betrayal, just like there is for ours. But it was not to be. I find that humbling. Make us love him, Luke! Can’t wait!

I always looked at Judas differently growing up. I always wondered if he was truly the “bad guy” we’re told he was. I always wondered about his fate. And then a priest said to me once “Judas died before Christ did, and he still had an opportunity for redemption once Christ died.” He shared my hopefulness that he was able to repent and that’s how I see Judas, a foolish man who regretted his actions, committed suicide, and was given an opportunity post death to be redeemed when his Rabbi died for his sins.

I never as a child thought he wasn't saved, no one has really seen hell or heaven (although some saints will say so) and I hope if I make it to heaven, I can shake his hand and any prayers helped him. Nuns will pray for him since the Vatican wont put anyone in hell and I think of all the wasted prayers by demonizing a man who commited suicide then. Would any of us love someone so much that our hurting them made it impossible to live?

No, he wasn't saved. Jesus said that he was born the son of perdition and was lost. He also said that he had chosen twelve disciples but one of them was a devil. Once Satan entered Judas after dipping the bread in the wine, that was it for him, there was no turning back.

What is such a testimony to both Dallas’ directing and Luke’s acting is that they make you like Judas right from the beginning. They make you want him to join the team and come to know Jesus personally. They make you think just a little in the back of your mind “No, no way, he won’t betray Jesus” even though you know he will. That’s what is so brilliant about this show.

Dallas saying Luke is God's man for the role is such a profound and deep way to look at it given the story of Judas. Because it shows that it's much more than him just being another villain in a story. And I love that. The Lord wants to do so much more with his story by helping us to realize and remember that he was a person who once loved Jesus. Who helped spread his message. Tragedy is absolutely right. This is a great interview; as a Catholic Christian we love this show and ALL its characters; Dallas is doing a great job in bringing The Word to this broken world and the depth and focus he's taken in detailing not only the life and mission of Christ but his disciples has never been done before on screen; I've seen probably every film ever made on the Life of Christ and Dallas has topped them all bar none.........the late Bishop Fulton Sheen talked at length in a interview about both Judas and Peter because actually they BOTH betrayed Christ..........but...........Peter repented unto the Lord before his death on the cross and eventually gave strength to his fellow disciples after the Resurrection............Judas on the other hand lost his place forever by repenting only unto himself and by committing suicide unfortunately gave away his only chance for peace and salvation..........I've been very lucky that even though at times I've been both a Judas and Peter to some degree but through the grace of God have always been called back into his Love; so thanks again Dallas for a awesome portrayal of the Life of Christ for us all.

This makes me reflect on the fact that Jesus did know that Judas would betray him, to fulfill the Scriptures. But the message, I think, that we are to ponder is that Jesus, even to the end was offering Judas a way out, to resist temptation. But in the end, of course, Judas chose betrayal. And that decision was not a snap decision, but Judas obviously was headed toward this momentous act of betrayal by a series of wrong choices. It is a warning to all of us that our choices lead to a result and that Satan is lying in wait to destroy us, any way he can. I would expect that the writers have crafted this character to communicate this warning, pertinent and applicable to us all.

He was a bit of a zealot and possibly thought his actions would cause Christ to become quicker, and they did in a way and the only difference between him and Peter was that Peter repented! 🤷‍♀️ and remember Christ couldn't have done what he did for us, without him! Gripping Interview!! Dallas my late pastor had REMARKABLE insight into Judas, so I will share. He believed Judas was trying to manipulate Jesus into fighting the government to become a literal king in that day. He loved Him deeply, but got antsy and thought He just needed a little 'push' to make it happen. Maybe that thought came from satan? But Judas did not believe Jesus would actually be taken and killed, but instead would reveal His divine nature and rule. My pastor also believed Judas was murdered, as no one can suicide to the point of splitting themselves open with a knife and their guts spilling out while they are hanging. My pastor hopes Judas repented and tells us to not be surprised or offended if he's in heaven when we get there. Fun to wonder... 🍿

The shock when he's introduced as Judas was huge! We get to see that Judas isn't a one sided bad guy who does bad things because he's bad.
