Shilpa Rao is an Indian singer born and raised in Jamshedpur. She completed her Post Graduation in Applied Statistics from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, before working as a jingle singer for three years. During her college days, Mithoon offered her to record the song "Javeda Zindagi" from Anwar (2007), making her Bollywood career debut."Javeda Zindagi" is one of the most popular songs of 2007.

Shilpa ki baat se relate kar sakti hoon...i too dint want to be anything in life until life started giving me directions. Also i enjoy being around nature. This interview was very interesting. She got so much respect, wen she visited Pak. Of late, Indian artists r afraid to discuss Pak. Swara Bhaskar was al praises fr Pak wen she came on a Pak tv talk show. Later she faced backlash & she had to say stuff agnst Pak to please Hinduvta supporters.
