In Conversation with Rep. Liz Cheney

In one of the most fascinating political journeys in modern politics, Ms. Cheney, elected to the House in 2016 to represent Wyoming, went from an archetypal leader within the Republican Party to the ultimate thorn in the side of the party’s president. Her role as Vice Chair for the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol led her to national fame but also her reelection loss.
Come hear about the inflection points of her work in the House, the future of the GOP and her own career in a conversation with Katherine Baicker, Dean of the Harris School of Public Policy.

Thank Rep Cheney for recognizing Precinct organizers. Even though it is far from the top of the political ladder, I enjoyed being a precinct organizers in SE Pennsylvania and I felt rewarded by some success getting people out to vote for good candidates. However when we had a very low turn-out the Republicans and Democrats working at the poles had a serious discussion about how we could improve turnout. ... As much as I enjoyed meeting my neighbors at the poles, I felt bad for an emergency hospital male nurse that arrived 5 minutes too late to vote. I hope both parties will make both poles and mail ballots available. I have always found good candidates in both parties. So help us vote.

There was a big turnout for college students and I think you made the difference. You gave them something to care about and you were very effective. Thank you for your commitment to our constitution and to America. That can never be debated.

Just the look on 45s face would be worth it. But I know you can bring stability and integrity back to Washington. You have my unwavering support through the next election. I reserve the right to change my mind on your second term though lol. Run Lizzy RUN . You won't need republican support cause all the democrats will vote for you. You know what choose a democratic running mate . That will stir things up. Or better yet change your political party. I know that's just a little to much. Thanks for standing up to the insanity for us, you are proof that the truth is worth more than anything else. I am so sorry your constituents didn't support your cause. I will you have my trust to do the right thing at the right time . Best of luck in 24 at least we'll know there will be one more election when you win it . Say hey to your father for me I always respected him also . Sincerely, a freedom loving American.

The reason Ray Epps got a break on his sentencing is because he pled guilty. Judges always give a break to people who plead guilty rather than go to trial. You should know that Mr Epps is suing Fox News for spreading the lie that he's an FBI agent-provocateur. A former Donald Trump supporter, Epps claims the network made him a scapegoat for the U.S. Capitol insurrection. Epps, a former Marine said he was forced from his Arizona home because of threats. He is asking for unspecified damages and a jury trial.

@@margaretsmist7140 Personally, I cannot stand Trump. However, he did nothing illegal in challenging the results. There are many legal avenue to challenge elections. However, Trump exhausted all such options and left. Hillary still challenges the 2016 results. The real threat to democracy was when Obama, Biden, the FBI director, the CIA director, Susan Rice and someone acting as head of the DOJ met in the oval office in January 2021 and decided to use totally false information, which they knew was false, to get permission from the FISA court to spy on Trump and drag the country through years and money on the Russia collusion situation. Another attack on Democracy was having the FBI and the news media hide the Hunter Biden laptop information from the public before the 2020 elections calling it Russian miss-information when it was, in fact, true and accurate information. Over 10% of the Biden voters stated in more than several polls that had they known such was true and accurate, they would have voted for Trump and Trump would have won. Even the most left wing news media like the New York Times has now attested to the laptop information's accuracy.
