One of the few great things about the internet & you tube is that we have access to amazing interviews like this.
His candour is wonderful.
I loved Derek Jacobi as Claudius, and was enthralled with him as Richard II.

+Ron Villejo Claudius was a great role, a terrific script, outstanding cast, miniature budget and he was absolutely mesmerising.
Thank you for posting this Video! He is such a wonderful Actor and he also seems to be a very gentle Soul :-)))))
Truly MAGNIFICENT in ' Little Dorrit'!
What an absolutely wonderful interview. Sir Derek is a brilliant actor. I saw him in Richard III and Richard II over two consecutive nights in London. Truly a genius of versatility on the stage. I also saw in as Alan Turing in Breaking the Code. His talent is absolutely exceptional.
Parts of this interview made me very emotional. I adore Sir Derek, such a great soul. :)

I always sensed he was a great person in addition to a great actor but had never seen him as himself until now. Lovely.
I saw his film Gladiator when released..I have always fascinated by his acting.... In all these 18 years I must have seen the scene involving Derek a thousand times, because this was the only film which I have seen thousand times.Maximus....maximus.maximus....
He is so fantastic. Thank you Mr Jacobi!
I have been watching Last Tango in Halifax on BBC iplayer, which I just love. Could not believe he wasn't from Yorkshire as his accent was so convincing. Truly a wonderful actor.
Thank you for uploading.
He is such an amazing actor, and has done so many wonderful roles, but his turn on Frasier is probably my favourite. Hysterical!
Hear that voice, it's so beautiful. I wish mi voice could sound like that when i speek
Sweet stories..
Thank you so much for posting this Video. I enjoyed it very much…..
His Cyrano is one of the best performances I've ever seen.

They never seem to- I've watched a couple of these great talks and there's no audience mic in sight...
I have the most massive crush on Sir Derek. I would give anything to see him in person.

Susanlucena I agree, I do too. He seems to be such a lovely person. I know he is married, and I am so pleased for him that he is happy. But we can still have our little harmless, admiring crushes. :)

Agreed!! :)
For all my ceebeebies kids, Sir Derek Jacobi voiced as the narrator in "In the Night Garden" 💗
I discovered Derek when I seen the movie, Dead Again. From there I was hooked. He is distinguished and acclaimed now :)
I love this man
I loved Derek Jacobi in the BBC production of Hamlet.
I'll never forget his Lady Macbeth at The Almeida. Sublime.
Cadfael is underrated IMO, it’s very much of its time though. But when you look past some dodgy acting and dodgy ADR, it’s a good little hidden gem
I saw Derek on stage at Chichester twice when he was with NT in the 60's but never realised his significance until, of course, "I Claudius". However, my favourite performance of his was as Jackson Hedley in an episode of Frasier. His talent for self-parody was superb and I admire the way he "sent himself up" so well. I'm sure the cast must have been in hoots of laughter during rehearsals.
He looks a bit as if "Radar" O'Reilly grew older and bearded.
Libraries are breeding grounds of imagination, hope and dreams. Fund libraries!
This is really a one man show. There is no need for that pumped up Max Wall.
It’s nothing to do with ‘luck’. It all depends on one’s Vibrational Energies. Namaste.
