@@KRALTAIR47 I think they probably meant the female sleeve kovach was in on the opening of the first episode of season 2 before he got killed by the bounty hunter girl (can’t recall her name) shortly after and re-sleeved in his new sleeve played by Anthony Mackie.. But you probably found out by now. 🤣 Kinda bummed out that Netflix canceled the show... I just started watching it like a week ago and found out about the cancellation when googling something about the show. 😞

the funny thing is that the bodies in the show could be changed as you change clothing. It makes the matter of race a moot point. You can be a man or a woman. you can be a man in a woman's body or vice versa. The race issue is really a problem of the audience, not the story.

Martha is totally right. Cyberpunk art always has such diverse characters because this is what the future will be. Especially asians are just a majority of the humans in existance. It would be ridiculous to only have caucasians in work that takes part many years in the future.

The funny part about futurism, it's always inspired by the social behaviors to that point, and the current technological advancement. In other words, while parts of it is bound to happen, a lot of it will just be very different. Diversity is a conversation of the moment. Not how it will really be in the future. More likely the future diversity will not be a mash up of current cultures (as shown in the series at times) but rather an emergence on different types of cultural groups all together. Languages, for example, divides people (simply because we think differently based on our language). So a future with more diversity blend is more likely to have a different language all together. Not people speaking multiple languages. But then again who can predict :p

I really don't get how people think this is whitewashing, it's crucial to the plot. Whitewashing is when the character is written to be played by a specific ethnicity but they choose a white person. Simple as that

the ethnicity issue is not an issue, the whole point was to emphasise the disparity from your original body, and the reason for choosing kinnamons sleeve is answered in the story, do your research for christsakes. overall it wasnt a bad attempt at converting the book, much better than most adaptations.

Honestly I thought the Altered Carbon story was pretty bad, but the characters and actors were all very good. The show had a lot of things going for it, but if they’re going to have Season 2 they really need to focus on improving the story and not bogging down on the minutiae and meaningless info. I guess there was a lot to introduce into the complex world of Altered Carbon, but focus more on character development and the setting, which are the strengths of the show.

I think the future they show and talk about is the worst thing humans can ever imagine. This kind of future should just stay in the books only. We should not talk about putting it into our lives. This future is totally disgusting and devastating. We talk about female empowerment, equality and freedom, animal conservation etc but look at the criminal future they have showed. Our generation is trying and working hard to improve and have a better future but these writers are ignoring it and are continuing their own story which is totally devastating. If this is going to be the future then sorry but we will never let this happen.
