In a world of instant gratification, don't forget your legacy | Jake Weidmann | TEDxMileHigh

Modern American consumers want cheap goods and more, more, more. But there’s a growing revolution of craftsmen, and an appreciation for extremely well crafted, high value works made to last years, decades, and lifetimes. In this jaw-dropping talk, artist and master penman Jake Weidmann shares his art and his legacy. Jake Weidmann is a self-taught artist and certified Master Penman.
The youngest in history among twelve Masters today, Jake received his certificate from the International Association of Master Penman, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting (IAMPETH) in 2011. He uses traditional calligraphic flourishing and hand lettering across many different artistic mediums. Jake draws inspiration from the Colorado outdoors and is a self-prescribed closet-bodybuilder. His growing family is his greatest joy and most delightful pursuit.

Sadly, I do not believe enough young people today give much thought to their legacies and passing things on to the future generations of people yet to be born into their bloodline. So much is considered disposable. I found this speech quite moving toward the end. Jake is an utterly fascinating man.
