This is what everyone without an Eevee worries about. Then you get one, and you realize that you just need to plug it in every time you are home. I owned any EV since 2016, I worried about range in 2017, but I havent since. I literally don’t even know how long it takes to charge, cause I plug it in, when I get home, and it’s ready to go when I leave.

Can somebody who is vastly superior in knowledge to this than I am, explain to me why an EV can’t have a system similar to an alternator that the car could switch over to when it’s running? Eliminating the need for stopping and charging and thus no more “miles per charge” limit. I mean I guess obvious reason would be something that’s different about gas powered engines that would allow an alternator to work where it could not on an EV but I feel like there should be a way to where the car should be able to recycle energy in order to make them infinite until broken

it was designed by Sangyup Lee who used to work at GM and designed the 5th gen Camaro concept car, then moved to VW AG where he actually was a designer who worked with Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini, then to Bentley where he designed the Flying Spur and Continental GT, and then finally he was headhunted by Hyundai. Basically the backend kinda looks like a Porsche because it was designed by a guy who used to design Porsches. He's also the reason why the Genesis SUVs (GV70 and GV80) kinda have a Bentley look to them.

if you can find the right charging station, yes. you'd need like a 300-350kwh charger which isn't that available right now. supercharging is also worse for battery life. that 360 millage is what i would say is good. that's probably more or less 280 miles of usable range. personally (though this is just my opinion), i think the ioniq 5 was better at its release. the ioniq 6 has some nice QoL changes but the design really is not my cup of tea

In the cheaper models ($50k-$90k), there will be more features that will need to be payed extra for, but if you move to more higher end models ($100k-$380k+...), those features come as standard. However this does vary. Most BMW drivers are not looking for reliability, so do the people in the same class... so a bit of money this and there won't matter or else we wouldn't be buying them at the first place, we mostly buy for the quality, looks and driving experience. We dont expect a BMW to last as long as a toyota etc without having problems but before problems start, a new one will be on the way... depends on the person. Service etc is more expensive and warranty and service plans are usually much shorter than over brands but yeah thats just some context on what most BMW drivers or MB, Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini.... etc look for. Bought a 2023 Ioniq 5, 1 month and a week ago, only drove it 1 week. It’s been at the dealer getting repairs and basically a lemon at this point. Watch out for these Hyundais. Also, majority of their 2017 Sonotas had engine recalls. Keep your money safe people

ALMOST bought the Ioniq 6. Waited for it for almost a year but when it came out and the base model was RWD with cloth seats, the killed the deal. Moving up to AWD is still cloth and the range drops to low 300s. Then a further costly upgrade gets you finally to the eco-leather seats. Wish the trims were better!
Every point was a good one... except the very last. I have never considered, not even once, the maneuverability of my backseat. Now im irritated cause theres a chance I'll remember that for no good reason lol I'll prolly have to test that now the next time I go lookin at cars 😂

Funny story. My mom works at hyundai of fort myers in a bit of a higher position and front desk as a part time. There’s this man who bought an ioniq and everyday since he bought it, he would bring it to the dealership to charge it for 20 minutes for free… which is so weird. He just sits in the lobby and chill there for 20 minutes everyday, towards the evening. It’s so weird. I can’t even say it’s like going to a gas station because at a gas station, you chill for 5 minutes at best pumping gas.
As a Tesla owner, I welcome more EVs. Competition drives down price and improves performance.

The doors unlock automatically, they don't open
Funny that with all of the worry and engineering that goes into increasing range, even with the wheels, they end up putting motors in everything that use more power. Automatic trunk, automatic door handles, automatic charge lids and I’m sure many more automatic things that just use more power
At first I was iffy about he looks of the car until I saw a beautiful red one near my work and my gosh it is so better in person
the "foot under the bumper to open the trunk" feature on cars is one of THE most annoying features to solve a problem that no one has.. my ex had a Q5 and I swear I got smacked SEVERAL times by the tailgate opening just from walking behind the car with the keys in my pocket

Yeah, I had a friend that was all about the 6. But then it actually came out and they saw the dealership markups, but they were still about it. Then I had them test drive my Tesla. For cheaper than the 6, they got a much more powerful car with just about the same range, a better charging network and much better self driving like features. And no, no quality issues from the factory.
