Maybe some cling film to pack the tiles before the tape?

Try putting some primitive pine pitch glue between each layer of material you use, the heat caused by the detonation of the casing can cause the bullet to lose strength when penetrating its target. In addition to making the materials stay together without the need for adhesive tape Pd: sorry for my English, I'm a Spanish speaker . Buena suerte.

Thank you Kevin. Some of the samples in the next set of samples for testing will use sections glued together. The energy needed to delaminate them should in theory make them more resistant to penetration.

I‘d want to use different adhesives too, epoxy for the hard ones and either simple Tesa glue (liquid with red label that contains solvents) for the soft one. Maybe the latter adhesive has some interesting properties as it hardens into a silicone-like soft material.
