Hi Shane i just had to comment again on this excellent tutorial..........i noticed some negative comments fromm a couple of people here............id just personally like to thank you taking the time to explain how to use chord tones to solo in a melodic fashion..........solo to this is so melodic...........without being overly complicated............music doesnt have to be complicated to sound good or great even ........fcuk the begrudgers...........Paul from Ireland

Paul thanks again for kind words. I've learned the short amount of time I've been doing lessons on this platform I can't please everyone. There will always be negative comments because it makes people feel better about themselves. My Channel is not a "watch this let me show you how fast I can shred or play". It's more about learning to use different options and how music can uplift people by showing them different ideas and ways to play the guitar.

@@paulkelly6853 Yes very true. I find when I hear someone just shredding or playing crazy amounts of notes it turns me off and just sounds like noise. Don't get me wrong I can play fast but choose not to on YT very often because I'm trying to teach not show off. When I plan live with a band I might play some fast stuff here and there but I use the entire tool bag of options.

I loved this lesson Shane: your pronounciation is clear and the explanations were easy to understand. I see you put a lot of work in making this for us and my only caveat is that your tone of voice is putting me to sleep.

Thanks Shane, I have been trying to settle on a Solid building block to practice my solos with and this video really did for me. I'm a newbie but I feel like a Pro that needs to practice this technique. I guess what I'm getting at is when it clicks in the mind how to visualize the fret board based on the Key, and having 2 scales being, position 1 and 5 of the Pentatonic with the box shape, man it just feels really free to be expressive and not be too bad in improvising. Thanks Again

@UpliftingRiffs yes I agree..........I'm getting to grips with it but have have spots on the neck where I freeze then panic sets in.........even though I know every note on every string up to fret 20 it can be hard to recall them exactly when improvising
