Improving the Rekt OpFour

Ойын-сауық

The CO2 powered Rekt OpFour is a unique addition to the world of foam flinging fun, offering fair power when stock, and ultra easy priming. However, I think it can become better...
A huge thanks to James Price over at Frantz Foam Works for the ultra professional intro!
Also, big thanks to my Patreons Homelee665, Beret, David Bolack, and now Justin Foster! You can help the channel and provide supplies for mods like this one by becoming a patreon here: www.patreon.com/MongooseJake

As do I, he did 50 intros for me and that one really stood out. There's likely at least 4 others I may rotate in before truly settling in on one or two.

You should get this one out. If CANE doesn't restrict Co2 blasters, this thing's rate of fire would be nice in the arena setting I've seen you play in.

@@MongooseJakeNerf Not that I know of, and since it's in an airsoft arena, those are already a thing anyway. I'll have to check, but I think those would be totally fine to use. Though perhaps not with a sealed, full breech. 200fps limit, after all. Admittedly hasn't been much of a concern since there haven't been any games to speak of.

@@Blasterhub Well, if your unit matches the performance of my stock production one, mine was firing at around 95-120 mostly with typical darts (mengun, e-kind waffles, elites, accustrike copies) and that would be more than safe. Thing I found was that in stock form you can cycle this thing ridiculously fast and get a very high rate of fire, which made me think it'd be great for close ranges. I'm thinking 35 round drum and blaze away!

If you do open yours up, open it very very slowly, and hold the internals to the left side by prying them down with a thin flathead screwdriver. The pieces love to lift and some might stick to the right side as you split the shell.

Now, it's down to getting smooth feeding. I'll smooth the brass and taper it a bit more and see if it'll start feeding less destructively. And yes, James did some really nice intros!

Of course, the only 200+ shots were with FVJ's, which as you know are pretty terrible aside from giving really nice chrono readings. -Also, thanks for all the content you guys have done over the years, great stuff!

I so wish that there was a way to make it semi auto with no pumping probably maybe being able to do that by a few springs

Hi Jake, I believe I've seen all your videos on the OpFour. I really like the look of the gun and am interested in buying one! BUT most reviews complain about the consistency, it seems like a sealed breach would improve this. Were you ever able to get the darts to properly feed from the magazine? And would you say that your consistency improved? Great videos man! If you are able to get it to work, a tutorial video would be much appreciated!

Well, after tinkering it came down to me trying to get full length darts to work in this. It'll feed half lengths fine enough to be used, so there's that.

At first look, it does. However the breech style of the OpFour complicates the design a bit. Not as much room to do a proper sealed breech like say as on a Longshot.

I think all foam dart guns have the problem of extracting multiple rounds at once.

I’ve been highly interested in this for a while, I’m curious what it’s accuracy wise. Maybe a slightly more tapered end could help with the catching?

The 12" barrel should help especially with a Accuratio attachment put on. I'll work the brass more and get a smooth feeding at some point, but I mostly did this as a way to see "if" I could improve the performance with a sealed brass breech.
