Improving Proprioception for Scoliosis Specific Exercise

While doing scoliosis specific exercise, like the Schroth Method, it is important to work on what is called proprioception, or body awareness. We do this a few different ways at Align Therapy in Lehi Utah.
While holding posture correction, we try to challenge the ability to hold that correction. This can be done with a variety of things. Foam, Bosu Ball, Dyna Disc, a ball, and even just standing on one foot can improve your body awareness.

Reminds me of my son. It seems like a big issue for us other than the pelvic tilt is neck tilt. His neck tilts to the right side and he constantly has to fight the urge to lean. The orthotist says there’s an argument that his upper thoracic curve is the main driver, not a compensatory curve as we initially believed. We’ve been working on proprioception, lots of mirror time, but if you have any neck specific exercises or tips to help the neck and shoulder imbalance, we’d love a video addressing that issue.
