Improved TCG Calibration in the OmniScan™ X3 MXU 5.16 Update

The 5.16 update of the OmniScan™ X3 onboard software, MXU, offers streamlined and more precise PAUT calibration. You can now limit the time-corrected gain (TCG) calibration to your area of interest, eliminating the need to calibrate individual and irrelevant angles. Save time and simplify TCG calibration for dual and linear phased array probes.
Inspection codes only require calibration inside the welded zone. The new weld overlay in the S-scan helps you quickly identify and validate the optimal depth for calibration. Optimize your TCG calibration to match the inspection requirements and accelerate your setup process.

So is this video showing a tcg done only in the weld area and HAZ?

Correct. This video is an example of a TCG calibration for a DMA probe which uses Longitudinal waves. Longitudinal waves often limit the inspection to the first leg as Shear wave mode conversion pollutes the second leg. As you can see in the video, the sectorial scan configuration does not allow to build a TCG point from angle min to angle max, the ability to limit the index of the TCG points becomes that much more important for such configurations.
