When reading the description of calyx extract, you can see that it bonds to calcium, which is why humans can get infected, so based off of that, crawlers have calcium bones, and the other creatures likely have bones of a stronger material

And this is why the first colonists are going to smuggle any gun smaller than 155mm.

I remember a game of Improved husk Mod... we were sailing along, when suddenly something just swam out of nowhere tore open the hatch at the top of the sub and killed EVERYONE Like it was, it got in and then just killed the whole crew in 5 seconds.

It also adds these little crawling ones that are super fast, I sent my security into an abandoned section of an outpost that I thought was clear and these little things started crawling all over them and infected all the security people, and they overran my ship cause I didn't think all of them got bit lol

I remember my first experience with one. Dynamic europa was having issues of the missions bekng the same on bounty boards and i added a husk mission mods for a little variety... first mission out the outpost was a husk watcher and it was terrifying to see. Not hard to kill but just a bit unerving to get close too

Try using the mods with Dynamic Europa to see if you get better spawns in the Husked Grounds, as well as mods that add new wrecks and beacons that have wider spaces for some of the larger specimens, as well as the fact that husk wrecks have a higher chance of spawning scarier mfs.

I like playing modded, but I dislike mods that stray too far from the vanilla formula. Mods like Barotraumatic, EK Mods, and Enhanced Armaments, have huge balancing issues, make major changes to base game content, and add a bunch of features that literally nobody asked for.

​@InitialDesu I loved that game! It's music slaps, but the plot was so weird. Why did the villain just get a gun? Did Napolean steal the tech, or make it? Why does the protag's dad make the forgeries? Why does the beat hit so hard when I'm fighting the roller blade police?

I highly recommend playing with Barotraumatic, Improved Husks, Stations from Beyond, and Enhanced Armaments. Makes for one helluvan experience.

Those spikes aren't the sensitive bits, those are the bits it uses to infect whatever it is attacking...

Tho, less visually pleasing, I prefer the old texture for the enemies, the feel so much creepier

My favorite moment in a HuskMod campaign was to kill a moloch.. ten seconds in it died. We got the mission complete for it.. I believe my words were.. “Wait… what killed it?”
