I’m hearing a Rolling Stones tune in my head. 😊 My wife bought me a whole drawer full of cheapo picnic table covers. She’s hoping I’ll cover a table now n then! 😂 I’ve got some holster pattern books with pictures of holsters back when. Some looked mighty thin and less than great. I own a few El Paso saddlery from 20 years ago but most come from Ebay or this 1 local guy. I usually tell him ‘not too thick’. (me) 😊

I like the color. One thing to consider is pulling the main holster body out of the loops so that the new color can get on all of the holster. That way if the gun is put back in there and pushes down the main body a little you won’t see the line. Looks great though.

That one with the black powder belt is as nice of a rig as I've ever seen. I've got a holster that was made in the 1880's. I'm fixing to redo the latigo on it. I've used it to tote about every Colt and early S&W type revolver I've owned. I bought a spool of latigo and can't find it 😂😂😂

Good stuff, I think changing up your gear is just a way to make it your own and if you like it thats what matters. Got a belt just like that in the cabinet. Just one other thing, if you want to shine up your newly died leather get leather balm with atom wax made by the same folks that made your dye. It is a finish for leather but it is not high gloss. If you buff it down good it will shine up but not like poly or acrylic.

I agree. To me it does make them look better. I like the worn in "uneven" look. Speaking of worn in looking, I'm really diggin' that finish job you done on that Cimmaron. It's amazingly beautiful. I don't think I've seen a better finish. It's not even the battle worn look really bc it's almost separate colors on the metals for the cylinder and frame. Great job man. P.S. Was that Rural King or Tractor Supply Co or Dependable True Value or where did you get that leather dye locally here? I need to grab some for a SA holster I bought over in Muscle Shoals the other day at a little gun and pawn shop I stopped at the browse. Later man. 🐍 🇺🇸

@@plowboysghostoh ok thanks. Yea I've known Barry and Mr. Stidham my whole life. I hated we lost him last year. Barry is keeping the store up good tho. He's got a new girl in the back in the leather "shop". He's letting do her own thing creating while she's there helping him do dog tags and collars and what not. There is a guy just a couple miles from me up here on the mountain that has a leather shop called Johnson's Leather if you're not already familiar. He does pretty good work and does a pretty wide range of custom stuff. He's only at it about 1/2 time right now bc he went back to his 9-5 but he has alot of stock and his wife helps him. They set up at shows and big flea markets and have a shop behind his house where he has stuff can show on an appointment kinda deal. He's a nice guy tho. But anyway, appreciate the reply back as usual. Take it easy neighbor ! 🐍🇺🇸

I think the outcome looks awesome! I love the distressed look, and I also like the red highlights. I make leather holsters and belts, and I developed a mahogany with red highlights colors that I use for all my own products. I understand your stand on your leather goods, but that one belt on your rig I've seen in many of your videos, and it drives me nuts. In fact, give me your waist size, and I will build and send you a belt on me. I'll get your ship to address when I'm ready to ship. Love the video.

If it's not dangerous, against the law, or hurts anyone (and I don't mean liberal's feelings) then have at it!👍 I do much the same with my leather gear. Now bear in mind, that I was a peace officer for 28 years, and my duty rig was black basketweave. And according to dept policy, it was always polished and very clean and sharp. But my workin' rigs for my old single actions ain't nuthin' fancy, but I don't care. They work. That's all that matters. So amigo, I'll have me another Shiner Light Blonde in your honor.🍺
