📜 About the Piece:
A year before his death, Schubert released his first two impromptus. However, the third and fourth impromptus only came to light in 1839 about 10 years after his passing. In his final years, Schubert faced a debilitating illness, believed to have been syphilis, diagnosed around 1823. Despite his health declining, he continued to create music with remarkable intensity. After Schubert's death, it was the visit of Robert Schumann to Schubert's brother, Ferdinand, that unveiled a wealth of Schubert's manuscripts including many unknown masterpieces. The resurrection of Schubert's works, shows how music can be forgotten or revived based on the decisions of influential figures like Schumann.
