Good morning The watch you are reviewing is the phoibos wave master mk2. I have owned the first black wavemaster for over a year and it has offered fantastic value for money and is keeping excellent time . The M k 2 changes are I believe the brushed case , the case back logo is deeper etched, the bezel action has changed ( not sure why as mine is perfect), the hour markers are slightly larger , lume looks to be brighter ,the bracelet screws are larger to aid sizing and the crown has the octopus logo. The other versions In blue etc are still the original spec. For me ,it has been a great watch although a bit heavy , you get used to this and just offers great value . Cheers Dave

I like the octopus better than the omega logo. It's a lot more fun. Also Bond needs more screen time,lots more screen time.

I'm pretty sure that the blue version is the Original version, which is why it's cheaper. The Black is the 2.0 version with some changes and enhancements. At least that's what they told me.

I confirm you can spot that the blue one had the older indices, crown and caseback. I've ordered mine yesterday after complaining about the price increase. Here is their response : Hello Nicolas, We use new manufacturer for the new batch and they have better quality, such as better lume, better finish, better bezel rotating feel, embossed crown and case back, enlarger hours makers. My first generation Wave is my most worn watch of my collection, not really a bracelet guy, wear mine on a NATO or a Barton Elite strap. I have no backplay on my bezel, I do like the brushed on the new version.

Love my wavemaster...have had it for over 2 years...runs perfect, looks great on my rubber orange dive strap.

First time watching your channel great review.

I believe the Black is more beacause it’s a Version 2. The blue is version 1. The Relative Time Channel did a review of an Version 2, I believe that is what you have. I have a Green Version 1. A very nice watch.

Just Great! Haven’t even had a chance to get the Eagle Ray yet, now I have to get the Wavemaster! Didn’t even mention “The Wall” is still out there to get! I am starting to get the feeling I might be a Phoibos fan boy!

Nice video. What are your thoughts on the Abalone shell dial? It's not the classic diver dial that many are used to, it's rather particular.

Great review. I own this same Phoibos model, but mine does not have the embossed rear octobus. Mine is more like sand blast. Wonder why they did this being the same model...

And Bond is almost falling sleep !

Love the dog !! :) is the bezel on model PY009B Blue dial for $219 better than on this one ? as i no backplay on the blue one ?

i like mine alot, im ot suprised of the backplay in the bezel. I got lucky and the detent on mine is good, better than my seikos, thanks for the vid

Likewise have owned this watch for about 10 months it is very good value for money. One problem I have found is that the Luminova on the bezel has 75% come off/out, (definitely not abuse), have had to purchase $25.00 new insert from Phoibos , not sure how I am going to replace this,not covered under warranty! I have noticed lots of company’s moving to lum bezels will this be a problem going forward?.

i cant focus on the review. the dog is just too cute!

It looks like a Seamaster/Blackbay mashup hommage...to bad about the bracelet and bezel, interesting watch. Thank you for another excellent review Oleg :)

You're right. Case looks similar to Tudor and the dial and bracelet remind me of Seamaster.

I like a few of their other models better but it’s not a bad Watch I always like This brand I like the square one you did a couple months back I just have to decide between green or blue

Another great review! Agree with you, those waves really remind me of the Omega Seamaster, do love the orange seconds hand. However overall I would pass on this watch, it just doesn’t appeal to me!!!

Been thinking about a Phoibos for a while now, Probably going to pick up a Great wall. So many watches i want tho, hard to choose.

I really like Eagle Ray. My favourite from the ones I reviewed so far.

Isn't the band a Strapcode Super Engineer Type II??

Bought it when it was released and quite interesting to see the change to the newer model... The side of the case was polished and there is absolutely no backplay of the bezel at my version.... The blue dial as also to the wave pattern a sunray effect which makes this dial very unique. BTW - use a scale to weight the watch... - mine comes sized for my 8" wrist to 194g - so it is realy a heavy and substantial watch - playing in the weight league of a Rolex Sea Dweller.... Homage - mmh it pays homage to many watches... Case: Tudor Pelagos Dial: Omega Seamaster So it wouldn’t be that easy to come up with an original design where you couldn’t find origins of different watches... For me it is the first Phoibos which isn’t clearly a homage to one watch...

Given that Bond usually looks pretty unimpressed, this must be a good 'un. Form has to follow function with dive watches so it's inevitable that there are a lot of family resemblances, but it seems a bit hard to label this as a homage - Phoibus did slap a dirty great octopus on the dial, after all. Which I think is a plus, but marine cephalopods aren't for everyone - distinctive anyway. On past form chances are the bezel issue will get sorted out fairly quickly, and once that's done there will be very little to complain about. Enjoy your lemonade. :-)

Haven't had a chance to review one yet. But I've heard a lot of positive things about them.

Blue version is old version of the watch. Phoibos only updated black one for now hence higher price.

Nice review. There are smaller lighter weight Phoibos watches and several movements. So they do have some variety with their watches. I think they even make ladies watches too. They do make well-built watches. This one is too heavy and too large for me, but it reminds me more of a Tudor blackbay than a Seamaster. To me anyway.

I have to say this watch even on my 6 inch wrist is incredibly comfortable. A bit domineering in terms of looks but it feels nice and looks nice. However, it seems like the bezel issue is a recent problem as mine from late 2018 has no issue whatsoever. No backplay and I actually have to be intentionally moving it forward for it to go forward too. Also interesting to note, the caseback octopus on yours is raised, mine isn't. Have you tried this on any NATO straps yet?

I have no extra straps that fit my wave master so I have it on the bracelet still but I'm getting bored of it right now but not the watch itself. Also I need a strap that will be comfortable for the summer and I find that the bracelet too hot for summer personally.

hey Oleg, how are you? it seems like Phoibos is getting "slightly" better and better as time goes by. that is a good news for them and for us. However, if I had to nitpick, I wish that the bracelet can taper down to 18 mm. other than that, everything looks pretty good. As for the bit of back play on bezel, just wondering, is it bit more costly to make it tighter without any back play? or just bit of carelessness from the factories??? do you know, Oleg? Thanks for the review, Oleg. PS: by the way, how old is Bond? my guess is around 7 or 8?

Hey Alex! I think it's there is probably a slight difference in cost between a tight and a loose bezel. Bond is almost 3 years old:)

Ooooh.. . When this watch sell in my country ?!?

Pulled the trigger on this watch last month . Great looking watch really solid and been my everyday wearer since. No issues with sizing the strap however my major gripe is the security clasp keeps coming loose not the main clasp and its grinding my gears! Anybody got any idea how to fix this or should i just get a two piece leather?

Maybe you can bend the security clasp inwards a bit on both sides, that should help.

Would like that in a quartz. But that's just me.

Love the watch but the non taper bracelet is not for me , I wonder if another bracelet would fit

@@24hourstime Time to sue the gym for their negligence, causing your injury... If you have a dozen grail watches six months from now, we will assume what happened..

I bought the Wavemaster mk1 in black and it was a big let down. The bracelet screws were made out of clay. The case finishing between the lugs was also rubbish. I removed the movement for spare parts and trashed the watch. It was also top heavy. No more Phoibos for me.

To me, it looks like a Seamaster homage, and you are just crazy.
