Welcome to the miraculous world of M. C. Escher (1898-1972) in The Hague. Where you have to look twice, to realise you don’t get it. Escher in the Palace displays world-class lithographs, ink drawings and woodcuts in Escher’s Surrealistic, mathematical Dada-style (no idea how to describe it better). Looking at his impossible constructions and transforming animals, he deserved more credit than he actually got (and is still getting). The former palace is also gorgeous and has awesome gifts!
