Dave Ramsey is on fire! I sure missed him. He has such a unique gift that although he created and follows his principles, he thinks and gives others outside the box thoughts and solutions whereas other personalities are just stuck in his principles and lack creativity. Thank you so much Dave Ramsey for all that you do!!

Jeez, budget! We did this the first month we were married and we were 18 and 21 when we started in the 80's and had no money back then. One time after paying the bills, put gas in the car, got our groceries, put some money in our savings which was only $250 dollars, we literally had 10 bucks in our pocket! We went out for ice cream that night - LOL!!! Things are waaaayyyy better now, in our late 50's and we still budget. Always need to have a finger on the pulse and good communication as well. We even let each other know when we're purchasing stuff on Amazon - it's called respect.

Divorce was the best thing I did for myself in all areas of my life! After 29 years of marriage, I'm cleaning up marriage and divorce debt. I'll be debt ftee Christmas 2025.

Logan I don't know if you'll read this comment but I just watched your segment I am doordashing 12 hours a day 6 days a week I know it's not a dream job for anyone but doing that I make over $1,000 a week sometimes up to 1300 so if you can commit yourself to it even though you won't have a life for a while you can make the money you need to get through this until you find a more stable job you can do it I believe in you I'm in the same situation as you financially except I have rent to pay. With doordash when you start out you have to get on the schedule but after you do a certain number of deliveries then you upgrade to a Platinum Status and you can Dash whenever you want so if you just get through that initial stage it might take you a few weeks getting on the schedule week in advance

The young man who mows my lawn told me that my water meter out at the street was leaking and the ditch between my lawn and the street was full of water. I called Nashville's water company to report it and someone will come out and see what needs to be done and let me know. MAYBE they will say this is up to Metro Water to fix, and they will do it on Metro's dime or MAYBE they will tell me I will need a plumber to come and fix it, and I will have to do it on MY dime. Here's why I am including this in a Dave Ramsey video. I am a widow and I live on a fixed income but thanks to doing the debt snowball and following the Ramsey plan, I am totally debt free and I have an emergency fund so while I am a bit concerned about how soon I can get this done I am NOT fearful that I might have to make the decision as to whether I will fix my water problem or EAT for the next month. For someone in my circumstances, I can't explain how much peace of mind that gives me. THANKS, DAVE!

I love the other personalities, but the thing they are lacking is making people understand the weight of their past decisions and how pressing the changes they NEED TO make right now are. Dave makes people understand there is a FIRE in their house and they need to do everything they can to put it out. Dave just has a gift. It's not tough love. It's just love, and when people get off the call with him I know they have more hope than they did before. It's possible to get out of the mess, they just need to understand that there is no more playing around with the debt. No more eating out, no more vacations, no life. It's not a joke. Everything besides basic necessities is essentially being financed by debt, and everything (but the house if possible) should be cut and sold.

Dave is right the stealership is the most expensive place to have car work done typically. However, used engines aren't always available for your vehicle and purchasing a rebuilt engine from the manufacturer is sometimes necessary. But you can still have a trusted "shade tree" install it and potentially save some money.

I once had a transmission go out on a vehicle. I thought I’d be smart and buy a good used one from junk yard (one that was in business like this with good parts). Anyway, I had a transmission place install it and rented a car while they worked on my car. When it was all said and done, I paid more renting a car 2 weeks plus the used transmission rather than just buying a new transmission from dealer and the dealer installing it. So be careful ! Don’t lose money in some other way (I had no idea they would take so long).

Dave, the 10,000 hour rule is not a rule. Gladwell misinterpreted the research. 10,000 was an average meaning that many in the study of musicians were experts without spending 10,000 hours. The research actually says that to become expert at something you need to dedicate deliberate practice time to that skill not just time. Tom Brady puts others to shame because of how he spent the time not just the time itself.

Dave I need help so bad we are not in a bad financial situation. We are in our 60s 42 years married our home is paid off we have a 1,100 dollar Walmart card that is the extent of our debt but we have a huge problem we need a roof replacement and we have 2 central heat and air units that need replacing. We are looking at about 25,000 we need. My husband is disabled and I stay home to take care of him and my granddaughter 4 months old. Our income is about 2,200 a month. I dread taking another loan out on the house but the roof is leaking and causing damage and we keep getting the downstairs unit fixed. Electric bill, car insurance and house insurance, phone and cable and internet bill, food, gas and my doctor every month which is about 250 a month with medication eats up almost all of that 2,400 a month. Don’t see a way out but because we do not want to get into that debt again the roof and units just stay as they are. Please help us find a way out of this. Please😢

Maybe the Rocky writers took the quote from the Malcolm Gladwell book? It sounds like the type of phrase that is common enough not to have a known, specific origin. Instead, it will have a date that it first appeared in print/film/etc. For example, the F word did not appear in print until the 1950s. That was certainly NOT the era that the word came into popular use.
