I found your channel because of the old market spreadsheet videos about a year ago and when trying to find them again was glad to see new uploads including this one. I guarantee you there a lot of interest. Subbed, notifications on and I really can't wait for the full video. Trying to get back into my manufacturing empire

Just to point out; you can change the config cell B15 to =JOIN(",",FILTER(Lookups!B2:B,ISNUMBER(Lookups!B2:B))) which will return all Type Ids in B column, comma separated, with no extra commas, removing the need to manually update it!

I think that the more advanced tutorial would be awesome!! I think the web based/traditional database route would be neat...especially with how easy jQuery is to use as well and some small databases like noSql db's or something like that are to use... #twocents

Awesome video! Can you make one about the basics of using API with PHP (pheal)? It's extremely difficult to find a decent tutorial about it. Just too many different methods. I basically want to grab market data and system data (system industry index) as XML for all the items I have stored every few hours and save them in a database. But I always fail when trying to establish a connection (curl-error) With that data I later on plan to calculate Profit over night (including research and materials) for my dear corp members :-)

I have a console based java app that i built a while ago that does basically exactly what you were talking about at the end if you're interested It's semi-efficent, and the code looks terrible (I did it before I really knew what exactly I was doing) but it works great and lets you search by arbitrary price margins.

The move to SWAGGER in a few months changes most things which is unfortunate if you have an entire set up based on the old DB access methods. If you want to go to Excel now then a utility like "JSON buddy" makes creating a CSV from the JSON download from the new API about as easy as I could imagine it ever might be. Within ten with JSON and the Eve Swagger Interface (ESI) even someone who does not know 1 iota of Java or JSON will be downloading the data they need and formatting it into CSV for load into whatever spreadsheet of database program they have. The download is something I only perform a few times a day (3 or 4 at most) and the overhead in terms of time once you have the JSON worked out is perhaps a minute? At the end of the day actually getting the data in a readable form should not be the challenge. It's what you do with that data, how you use whatever analysis tools you have to find the best deals that counts. Actually getting it should be really simple, and I think the move to SWAGGER probably is a big step in that direction - as long as you either know the basics of JSON or use a tool like JSON Buddy to do most of the donkey work for you.

I am preferring to try and find a program where someone else has already done the work for me. I have stumbled onto Evernus but it's not very user friendly. If you have experience with these programs I would much prefer it if you show us how to use them rather than showing us how to make our own. HUGE CBF. No point reinventing the wheel, show us the simplest way.
