IMPORTING, RED FOOTAGE, PROXIES, OH MY! Premiere Pro Workflow
So you shot your awesome short film, now what!? Before we get slice’n and chopp’n, let's prep our footage by correctly importing it into Premiere Pro. Create proxies so our potato electronic movie-making box can play them and some extra nuggets of knowledge that will hopefully help y’all out. This is centered around RED 8k footage, but all the techniques translate to other types of footage. We dive into LUTS, Lumetri, Media Encoder, and the steps of creating a custom preset for proxies.

Am i the only one to have a Preset mismatch when i try to add the ingest in the create porxy pannel ?...
You start with showing how to import. Then you switch to kittens, then to shotcuts, then to LUTs etc. Went off track so soon. End what you are doing and then to the next subject!
hello. what if i didnt rec the r3d file but normal mov file at red Komodo. there is no mov select option at media browser. so how do i select it out form each folder.

Hello! From what I recall, Komodo records ProRes 422 or ProRes 422 HQ. If that is the case, you can get away with dragging a dropping the footage into Premiere. I'm not 100% sure if it breaks the file up based on size tho - so that will be something I'll need to look into. Now, it not showing up in the Media Browser is a little worrying. Make sure you're on the most up-to-date version of Premiere and if it still doesn't import or throws an error, try playing the file in something like VLC or POT player to ensure the file is not corrupted. Let me know and I'll do my best to help trouble shoot with you!
