1. To ‘Turn over a New Leaf’ means to start over, to act in a different manner or change your attitude about something. 2. To 'Flogging a dead horse'means to waste energy on something that has no chance of succeeding. 3. To 'Put one's shoulder to wheel' means to work very hard and diligently. 4. To 'Make eye at' means to to try to get something to notice. 5. To 'Strike while the iron is hot' means to make use of an opportunity immediately. 6. To 'Nitty-gritty' means to the most important aspects or practical details of something. 7. To 'Jump the gun' means to act before the proper or appropriate time. 8. To 'Wear one's heart on one's sleeves' means to show one's feelings openly. 9. to 'Wrong foot' means to put somebody in a difficult or embarrassing situation by doing something that they do not expect.

Hi Adarsh, you might not explicitly encounter a idiom MCQ in XAT, but they can be indirectly present in RCs or sentence completion and if you're not comfortable with common idioms, you might face troubles.
