Import Video Reference Into Autodesk Maya

If you don't have the (discontinued) QuickTime plugin installed on Windows, you'll have some difficulty getting a video imported into the latest versions of Maya (2023 and up) on Windows. Here's a solid workaround: Create an image sequence of your video.
Also included: Tips on editing the camera's "imagePlane" as well as how to re-time footage in Adobe After Effects and exporting a PNG sequence with the correct naming conventions for Maya.

My guess would be you have your scene playing "play every frame". To fix that click the running man with the cog on the bottom right of your screen, then under "playback speed" change it to "24x1" or "30x1", whatever your frame rate is.
