To my understanding, because that the Imperuim made up of an alliance of both Terra and Mars both are needed, the techpriest follows the Emperor believing that he is the omnissiah a god, Terra and the rest of mankind follow him because that he is the God Emperor of Mankind. He is both and he rules because he wills it.

Right now there are some limitations, but if you're an artist and learning how to use these tools in your workflow. Believe me in a year when everything is more advanced you can produce phenomenal results. it's easy to criticize now because of the flaws. But very soon people won't notice the difference and those who are firmly against AI will re-consider many things. Just like how As modern militaries emerged in the 19th century, the samurai were rendered increasingly obsolete and very expensive to maintain compared to the average conscript soldier. Now you can choose to be an obsolete Samurai in the field or a modern capable soldier.

Hence "laughter of thirsty gods" at the end of the opening crawl. The suffering in 40k exists because it's done for our entertainment. And 40k fans always want more. There's some other fourth wall references: • The warp is the space between gaming venues. Each venue (whether it's someone's house or the local shop) is a planet/star system. • "Lost in the warp" refers to models getting lost or broken while being transported between games. • The story of the Imperial Guard regiment traveling through the warp to answer a distress signal, only to find copies of themselves causing a local rebellion is two players having the same army (such as Catachans vs. Catachans). • This same story applies to the ork who traveled back in time to kill himself so he could have two copies of his favorite gun: it's two ork players with the same special character model in their army playing against each other. • The chaos gods themselves are the audience. • The Great Game played by the chaos gods are the struggles that occur in real life. The reason the chaos gods haven't taken over in 40k and squabble amongst themselves is because real wars supersede playing with plastic army men. • My own head cannon is everything GW has ever published exists within the Black Library guarded by the Harlequins. The reason they don't let people in there is because it would make most people insane knowing some humans predetermined their entire life 39,000 years before as a hobby. It also means the BL contains the true nature of chaos: it's a game played by humans. Solitaires take a vow of silence as they've actually read all the information related to chaos, Slaanesh in particular. Talking to a solitaire drives Eldar insane because they learn how their whole species was wiped out when some guy wrote some book for a tabletop wargame called "Slaves to Darkness." There's more I'm forgetting, but those are some of my favorite tidbits.

It's more that it's comparatively difficult to get the lighting 'wrong' as long as you copy existing patterns in background lighting. A computer can fairly easily understand 'do background color x, since x: contrast with color y in blobs, draw colour z in straight-line godrays everywhere else, darken color based on distance from edges of shape', if it gets a few rays 'wrong' or the shading doesn't really make sense, we'll either not notice or assume it's a stylistic choice but god forbid it tries to statistically mode motion and facial features. Good luck beating millions of years of monke brain uncanny valley sense. AI will get there eventually, but without actually processing exactly what and why certain details/motion occur, it won't get any better than 'cool but flawed'

One of my main concerns with a 40k movie or series would be how space Marines are proportioned and how they move. This felt right

Imagine if GW actually tried. The fan content on YT completely outshines anything official. Yet I still watch the Ultramarines film every few years out of desperation. The incredibly rich lore is all there, the visual language is there, we just need some proper long-form video content. The visual style is what got me, and I'm sure many others, hooked in the first place. It's insane to have not taken advantage of it for all these years. Can't wait until I can feed the entire Black Library into Sora 4.0 in a few years and have infinite 40k movies to watch.

This just makes me want a 40k TV show in this style so badly....

I for an example would think even higher of people that still know how to do something that can be done by automation. The positives in this case would be that many people arnt required to grind years/decades to create something like this short movie here, it literally opens the floodgate for people that might have a creative vision but not the technical know-how yet.

@@taserrr Art will not be out for humans because Art is a luxury product in most cases that will be in demand, that and also the discipline extends to stuff like mechanical design. If anything, it would become a tool to streamline things like backgrounds or do things like upscaling, but for infinity I do not see AI replacing the human mind and hand. What is frustrating though are people claiming to be artists just because they punched in a few words and then attempt to pass it off as theirs.

Was not expecting so much feedback and HERESY! thank you guys. This started off as a hobby and by no means is perfect and yes there are imperfections here and there. If it didn't meet your expectations I'm sure the next one will.

This feels like a series of short stories. A Skitaari engagement with Tau, the tale of a world’s fall to chaos in spite of an inquisitor’s efforts and it’s subsequent exterminatus. A Dark Angels squadron sent to recover the gene seed of their battle brothers from an ork occupied battlefield. The desperate defense against a tyrannid invasion on a polar world.

It makes the player feels more involved as you can create your own story base on the main plot mythology. It's just the skipping between each scene that gives me a slight headache. It would be awesome to have short animations like in the Astartes 2 Teaser.

You probably haven't seen Hollywood trailer in your life, this was complete garbage. AI generated garbage. I mean we're starting to see some initial sparks in AI generation but it still lacks vision, cohesion and general idea of what it wants to portray. I don't think AI tools will be good enough to beat Hollywood anytime soon. It might get there but we're still far from it.

@@cpypcyI think calling it garbage is a bit extreme. I hate what AI represents but it does some things well. I think a lot of this looked pretty damn good.

Try to make this a year ago, impossible. This is an incredible testament to how far AI has come and how it can lower the bar of entry for amateur film makers. I'm excited to see what this could look like given another year.

Why do people take issue with 'master of mankind by the will of the gods', this verse is found in every novel about the Imperium.

generative AI has been available for what, a year? And it did in a 2 minute video, despite inaccuracies, did something no one has been able to do in the last 20 years. Give AI a couple more years and its going to belch out fluff accurate series.

Who is or what are these guys with black capes called? 1:14 - 1:18 (W40 amazes me but I am incapable of paying attention to so much history, sorry) but does anyone know the name of the one who meditates with a black cane or if it is some race in particular, I would appreciate it

First one just looks like a psyker, but the next few are likely Arbites (police) maybe? They aren't wearing any specific armor for that though, kinda reminds me of the Witch Hunter from Warhammer fantasy.

First one is a Psyker. Second feels more like an imperial agent of sort. Maybe an assassin or an Inquisition acolyte/agent. Also, if you like 40k but don't feel like reading or listening to lore vids, I recommend the Helsreach movie on KZread.

Thanks a lot for getting it! It's tricky to navigate the whole copyright thing, especially when you're so into the Warhammer 40K world like I am. What I did here was more like a shout-out to the lore I love, but spun in my own way to keep things on the right side of the law. next to darktide and some official GW artworks this is my favorite representation of 40k. just awesome

Even though some scenes are not perfect, as a fan of warhammer40k, and made by an AI, I have to say, this is Amazing.

as a warhammer fan for over 30y. this is AMAZING

Through Service I learn Duty; Through Duty I gain Purpose; Through Purpose I attain Righteousness; Through Righteousness I am Eternal at the Emperors side. Ave Imperator.

All I can do is picture whoever made this frantically editing it into 1-2 second clips to try and disguise all the models warping like putty.

Every second of this video makes me feel queasy looking at it.

Got to say, some of those weird transitions/movements that were caused by the AI animation, those would be really good for something under the affect of the warp.

I agree tbh, I also like the warp they get during the fighting parts. Looks like their faces are moving from the blast force from guns and explosions.

to me it definitely doesnt take away from the realism of it all. looks absolutely amazing. due to it being fantasy the strange warping looks believable

I am also curious as your source of voice. None of the AI voice options I've found have a middle ground between "meh" and "OMG that's a lot of money! I could hire *3* real artists for that much!".
