I never realized how many butthurt star wars nerds were out there. Lighten up and stop taking a fictional series so seriously and deliberate. It's a made up story and people can enjoy it however they like. There are no rules to fantasy.

Little known fact. Storm troopers are actually great shots. In the scene where they constantly miss Luke and Leia on the Death Star. They were actually ordered to let them escape so they could be led to the rebel base. There is actually a scene in one of the cuts that shows Darth Vader telling the crew to let them go.

Stormtroopers were not intended to be the grunt force of the empire and canonically aren't. They were intended to be a more special trooper, better than your average conscript soldier. (The kind we see in Andor, actually.)

This stormtrooper did the perfect thing. Like In A New Hope, Leia figured out their escape was very easy. It was planned for the stormies to miss them and let them go, so they can track the Rebels back to their secret base.

The thing that always gets me is that the Stormtroopers in Star Wars were clearly and explicitly told to *let the Millenium Falcon escape* because it had a tracking device planted on it that would lead the Empire to the Rebel base. They were *supposed* to miss. If they kill everyone who knows where the base is, no one is left to fly the bugged ship there. And since they don't know who knows the location, they can't afford to kill anyone. This should be obvious, because Obi-wan specifically calls out how accurate Stormtroopers generally are by noting how precise the shot groupings are on the ambushed Jawa landbarge, saying "only Stormtroopers are this precise". The misses are supposed to be a clue for the audience that something screwy is going on. Kenobi even mentions that their escape has been too easy.

Also at the beginning of the movie when the stormtroopers boards the Tantive 4, they easily mow down the rebel security forces with few casualties of their own. Btw it was Leia who said their escape was too easy, Kenobi was dead when they escaped on the Falcon.

I mean he actually hit the board. That honestly pretty impressive for a stormtrooper

The joke about them missing is often exaggeration. We all know it was just the force making them miss.

The accuracy of the blaster is calibrated to the moving targets, no problems here, move along xD

It's the Helmet, you can't look down the sights with it.

thing is, ... you dont need to, the visor acts as a HUD and targetting computer but people still to this day repeat the bad meme about StormTroopers aim being bad ... when in most scenes they were MISSING ON PURPOSE because they were ordered to let the heroes escape (Ep4) or just lure Luke in towards Vader (E5)

@@TheMeta141 they arent "holes" unless you are not a soldier the helmet was keyed and tuned for ... heroes couldnt see through the visor because it was turned off, for the actual Stormtrooper its supposed to provide IMPROVED vision ... - think Predator with his helmet on and off ...

Reminds me of the jedi knight games. On single shots the E11 is near dead on accurate, but rapid-fire it gets a bit of a nasty spread

Fun fact there was a comic where they explain why Stormtroopers miss a lot and it's because one of the characters in said comic made the scope unaligned in a factory. Making it harder for Stormtroopers to actually hit their target.

@@MrPr1nglz they probably can, but do you think the empire is going to trust canon fodder to adjust their own sites? Their entire Tarkin Doctrine focuses on volume of fire rather than accuracy of fire. I guess they figure they don’t need accurate weapons when there’s 1000 of them firing at once at a force of rebels they outnumber 3:1

That scope looks SO clean, and the rangefinder is a nice touch. Good on the engineers! Glory to the Empire!

This has always bugged me. The stormtroopers were supposed to be excellent shots, they even mentioned it in the first film, the reason they kept missing when Luke and Han were escaping the death star is because they wanted them to escape!

Exactly! Don't forget the Tantive IV and Echo base, along with THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES STATING THEMSELVES MULTIPLE TIMES THAT THEY HAVE GOOD AIM and yet there are absolute idiots who just overuse "hur hur! Stormtrooper Dumb!" Ridiculous.

You're obviously not a clone, the clones could actually hit what there aiming with 100% accuracy, the only time they ever miss is when they're ordered to. The clone troopers would be disappointed if they saw that performance, I bet Commander Rex would laugh when he fought the imperial troopers.

The storm troopers in the original Star Wars were super accurate marksmen. Lord Vader ordered that the Process be brought back to him alive: they fired hundreds of shots and never hit her once.

I genuinely hate the stereotype that stormtroopers are a bad shot. I mean in legends they're scarry, but ya know heroes have plot armor. Can we see our heroes in genuine danger from these guys. They're supposed to be elite troopers, make them intimidating

they already had their lethality established in the opening sequence of A New Hope, wrecking the rebel defenders and seizing an entire frigate within the span of a few minutes. idk why everyone focuses on the death-star sequence as some indicator that they aren't competent and elite soldiers when its pretty obvious the main characters were allowed to escape.

I like how the stun shot was aimed perfectly but not everything else

The funniest damn part was when you hit the WRONG board! 😆 I had to watch it a 2nd time just to be sure!

Two fixs give them swords an shields or give them all lmg that way we take accuracy out of the matter all together. Or focus on weapon systems that explode or flame throwers

After playing the original Battlefront 2, I can say with confidence, The spread on those blasters really do become very unwieldy

Maybe the scope isn't what they need to use, but the stock... seriously unfolding it and shouldering the rifle would help so much.
