Come here kids I’m gonna tell you the story of Rome. A once obscure village of central Italy. At the frontier of Etruscan and greek civilization, who managed to defeat everyone in their way and become on of the greatest empire the world has ever seen.

@@user-yx5hb5zn4i The Umayyad dynasty lasted less than 100 years but Rome? Rome is immortal. The physical Roman Empire lasted over 1000 years. A Roman state has existed in one form or another in an almost totally unbroken sequence since 753 BC up until modern day with Vatican City and the Roman Catholic Church. The ancient Roman institutions and traditions live on in some form or another and influence almost every facet of culture in the west. Islam as a whole has had a similar effect upon the Middle East and beyond but the empire that founded those cultural influences was not as illustrious as Rome.

About three thousand years ago, the largest empire of the ancient world was born in a swampy area on the banks of the Tiber River. At first, only a handful of people lived on the mosquito-infested hills, but a few centuries later the Romans seized the entire territory of modern Italy. And not only. Where once there was a hotbed of malaria, an empire grew up, owning fifty provinces.

Rome 2 is enjoyable but the marketing lies are not acceptable. It's quite a good game but it's not as good as R1, especially when you keep the age in mind. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lq1pqbSaeN2snqw.html

CA mentioned that they were planning on releasing the Rome 2 soundtrack in the future so they wanted me to take down my soundtrack. But I didn't want to delete all of the videos since I'm sure they won't release all of the game's music. So I'm unlisting all my Rome 2 videos for now and then replacing my versions with the official ones when they come out (like with my 3K playlist)

They did expand into Germania during Augustus’ reign however after two legions of Varrus were annihilated at the battle of Teutoberg Forest by Arminius it was quite difficult to find the courage to cross into the lands of the barbarians again.

Nah, if Rome took over Germania then the Germanic languages wouldn't exist, there would be no England or Vikings or anything like that. Almost all of Europe would be this massive Latin/Romance speaking Mediterranean lake. That would be kinda boring compared to what there is today.
