i was depressed, my wife left me and i had no future in life, and then i downloaded the Invictus mod and now i am the ceo of google and amazon. my bed is made of 100 dollar bills. i cannot recommend the invictus mod enough

I hope this video gets a good amount of views. If it does, it would be cool to see Alex play one of the successor states of Alexander the Great empire.

How can you return to Imperator and not play the essential community-made Invictus mod. It has been regularly updated and maintained all this time and adds a ton of cool features. You gotta try it out sometime Alex.

oh I wasnt watching your videos around one month , because I fall in love again with Imperator:Rome , with some mods its finally gorgeous and Im enjoying a lot again after release.

15:36 you can actually have them join Rome diplomatically, the option was around that menu somewhere 😂

I was thinking of picking this up again the other day, low and behold a good ol' rambler review to help me.

Glad to see Imperator Rome is back on this channel, would love to see some more :)

A couple of tips for those who've tried the game and were frustrated by the mechanics. Unlike EU4 you want to have a fort in every province and not just on the borders. Forts reduce unrest which increases province loyalty. So at least 1 fort per province and 2-3 for newly conquered states. That along with theaters and temples when you can research them. Second trick is if a province has declining loyalty of less than 34, you can switch the governor out and back and they will usually change to harsh treatment without wasting PP. At a small cost of loyalty, hopefully you didn't assign the governors job to someone with low loyalty beforehand. Third is to have only 1 city per province, obviously your province capital. It's more efficient to have have 1 city with 90 pops than 3 with 30. Pick a place with the best habitability even if its not the best resource available. Exceptions being a low population province (below 30-40) where it may be ok to have a 2nd city strictly as a granary silo. More available food increases pop growth, doesn't works as well in high pop states. Also your capital region where 4-6 cities may be ok for the trade bonuses. 4th and more challenging; Tyranny is your friend. Not a good one but it's the best source for AE reduction, plus adds to slave output, more tax money. So sack/destroy cities that you don't need. Just be weary of loyalty, maybe research loyalty techs. Next once you get legions there is an exploit where you can get them almost unlimited morale. It just depends on how many foreign holy sites you have access to, each one is supposed to give a 10% permanent morale boost to a legion when sacked. Its supposed to only do it once. But due to the game being perfectly balanced. What you can do is split up which ever legion you want to do this to and send one to however number of temples you want. Then pause the game and go through all the units and destroy each holy site with the legion. You'll see the event pop up repeatedly. I've gotten a 400% morale boost in Ironman. Usually I restrict myself to a meager 50-100% boost as I try to spread it around all my legions. And morale actually increases your damage output. My legions can easily fight 4-5 times their number, such victories give more rewards and bonuses. Eventually you'll have a single 10k legion smashing 100k troops. Lastly horse archers are OP, just like in real life. If you have access to the Persian military branch use them instead of heavy infantry and cavalry. Don't give them logistics or engineers. Have dedicated siege legions with infantry set aside. Because they can move at speed for 4, double the speed of infantry at 2. And they have 5 maneuver in battle. Basically they can hit everyone around them. Combined with the Persian bonuses and the special doctrine they're like roving helicopter gunships. The only thing that can stop them is a dedicated army of light cav but the AI never makes such an army. And they're good as far as army weight, not having the extra weight modifier that heavy cav has. Early steppe horde goes BRRT!

I enjoy imperator but Christ it's no surprise it turns people away.

Imperator Rome is the only paradox game I actually enjoy playing, so I'd say yea it's worth it.

I like to rush "census data" with the first innovation points. It gives you free pops (6 if i remember correctly). It's also important to stack character loyalty modifiers, you can totally avoid civil war if you get two or three of those.

Characters intrigue have more allure in monarchies and dictatorships but character and family Interactions mean a lot in tribes and repiblics too and are a viable focus for making a strong "state"

IIRC it was pretty terrible on launch. It feels good to play now but a poor release hurts a lot. Rome 2 Total War nearly bombed with how atrocious it launched as until they gave us the free Augustus (is it called that?) version.

Emperor Laith, the sole true Imperator of Rome has been single handling reviving the game.

It is absolutely worth playing. The Diadochi states are my favorite to play as. Titanic wars, whereas Rome you have a war with Carthage a few times and then steamrolll the barbarians. Not that fun. It took me the entire game to reunite Alexander’s empire as Seleucid’s. I remember rushing to get it done before the time ran out, and I did it with a couple years remaining. Seriously good fun to be had with this game. It truly is a shame that it doesn’t get official support anymore.

I have this game watched other people play, tried the provided KZread tutorials, played a little hoi but still have no idea what's going on in this game. So disappointed I can't play it. Just can't figure it out.

I actually really like it for revolts and internal politics flavour(for example I had a fairly fun civil war when a family rebled taking a fleet and 2 provinces with them)

I remembered getting this game like 6 months early in hopes of uniting the barbarian world under the might of the Getae. Then realized after research they only gave a crap about "civilized" nation's. I tried every couple months after but nope nobody gives love to the barbarians

What do you mean, the Getae have a custom mission tree in Invictus, although less than 6 months old, but tons of barbarian nations have had ones for a long time.
