I'm from SC (currently in SC), and we do have peculiar history books. I remember our teacher telling us to close our history books in 4th grade when it illustrated a slave family at an auction with a little girl in a red dress with white polka dots, and sparkly red shoes like on Wizard of Oz, and she had ribbons in her hair with ponytails, and she was smiling on the auction block--showing off her dress. So, yea, my state definitely can revise history. LOL

Which generation are you? Didn't your parents tell you it's all a game to politicians? It's so weird that it seems the older generations in some families don't share information with the young. My grandfather (greatest generation), my father (boomer), and my siblings (Gen X) have all known this and talk about it often. Just glad you finally know, too.

I may be old enough to be your father and what I have learned, there is no such thing as free, the sun always comes up in the morning and when it comes to politics no matter what side you're on or how good it sounds, it always ends up the same way, the middle class gets fu*ked and no one is getting rich except the politicians. Look at the Obamas, the Clintons and both Bush's. If you're truly in fear for future generations, forget about guns, abortion, illegal aliens, global warming and social security and get term limits on the ballots. Divide and conquer and both parties are guilty.
