IMPACT, LEVERAGE AND COMPRESSION

Dan discusses the correct impact position and how leverage is created with the proper sequencing. Both of these things mean you can compress the golf ball properly, which leads to more distance and accuracy in your game.

I have been hooking the ball like hell suddeny these days. After watching your video, now I realize that I tried to hit the ball harder through release for distance, too much. Thanks a lot for waking me up, Dan.

Thanks so much!!! I've been taking lessons and have added a lot of distance through better mechanics but felt I had lost predictability. Straight shots, 5-10y pushes right, 20y pull hooks left...every shot was an adventure! I was thrilled with what I'd gained but it wasn't of any practical use yet. The next step step was to get some repeatable directional control back. Your explanation and demonstration of how the pivot works coupled with the 9-to-3 and right arm only drills now have me hitting lasers high, straight and even further one after the other! I feel that this was the missing piece to make my new, more powerful swing actually useful on the golf course. What timing for you to have made this video! Thought you'd like to know this has dramatically helped my game. Thank you so much so what you're doing, it really makes a difference!,

Wow...I have to admits that your conception of a golf swing really fits me. I can relate to everything you have done so far. I really enjoy watching them and they really helping me with my games. I take lessons with my local pro here in canada and what you are doing kind of complement the work that he is doing with me (you share the same fundamentals). I have a better understanding of what is a good swing and I can honnestly say that I'm getting good in my knowledge of the bio-mecanics aspects of it. You have a way to deliver your contents/information in way that is very easy to swallow. You've gain 3 ranks on my hero's list ;) Keep on the good work

it's difficult for me personally to imagine this sort of "dragging" the handle generates the cluhead speed that it does...explains why my swing isn't as good as I think it should be. I have that exact flip that I think is squaring the club face up to the ball. It's also proof in that almost any pro golfer I watch has this same move... Going to have to take this to the range!! great vid

I hate to be 'that guy' in the comments but after seeing this I feel like I've never understood how to swing the club correctly until now. I always tended towards a crack-the-whip style swing in which the club face closes immediately after (and to be honest often before) impact. Got a lot out of this video, thanks Dan.

Dan, this is an awesome video! I really like your content. Sometimes, I think your explanations are just too technical, and I don't know how to incorporate the concepts that you are teaching. But in others, like this one, I LOVE when you add those drills in to show how I can really adopt those concepts into my swing. So so helpful. Looking forward to all your videos going forward.

I use to find those club with stick ver useful. Just make half shots with it and prevent the stick slamming into your body at/after impact. Although it is quite hard to do it, it helped me a lot to get some proper rotation and face control.

"....the right elbow as a pivot point..." click! this gives me a new sight of the downswing. hope this works out on the range. one thing i struggle with your style of golfswing is that point when it comes to impact. i can not imagine how you get a clubhead that moves down into the ground. Me as a professional "early extender" and "low backpain ignorer" therefor a "ball picker" have no clue how to hit a iron down with a compressing motion. Maybe you can give us a few aspects to this thought... Great content by the way, spending way to much time with you :)

Dan for someone that has played the game getting the club face square and chasing down the target line. Where would you suggest starting to rebuild their swing? Accuracy hasn't been a problem but distance is affected. Hooks with the driver off the toe because of early extension plagues him as well.

Dan ….really enjoy your channel. You make the body rotation swing seem easy and powerful. My problem is that I produce a push fade with my body rotation…..while I’d like to produce a push draw. Am I not rotating fast enough, going left fast? ….or could it be as simple as strengthening my grip? What have you found in your students when they produce that push fade? thanks

I can not understand where the speed comes from to get a powerful release with what seems to be holding the club head off. Could you tell me how to get the club head and the lag created in the backswing to be strait at impact without rolling or cupping the wrist. I was a 6 handicapper and now a 10 since the flip and roll have crept into my release. Please Help. ;)

Impact is 5, ten thousandths of a second. Proproception does not work in ten thousanths of a second. In other words it is impossible to feel impact in real time. As a matter of fact once the DS begins, it is impossible to know where our hands or clubhead is in real time. IMPOSSIBLE, means not possible. No practice, no drills, no impact bags can change this fact.
