Impact Investing Could Be $5.2 Trillion Market In Ten Years: Steinbridge CEO

Tawan Davis is a Founding Partner and CEO of the Steinbridge Group. He is also recognized as one of America’s emerging business, economic, and social leaders. In this role, Mr. Davis leads the company by combining his deep training and experience in finance and economics with a prolific social activism. He is also a member of the investment and management committees.
Davis’ leadership combines deep training and experience in finance and economics with a prolific social activism. He began his career as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs and was later a real estate private equity investor with Prudential Financial, leading and managing investments both in Europe and the United States. Davis later served as Vice President and Head of Public-Private Partnerships in the administration of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and as CIO of a $5 billion national real estate development firm.
In addition to leading Steinbridge, Davis is also an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at New York University (NYU), and serves on the boards of Harlem Hospital, the New York Urban League and the New Horizons Children’s Advocacy Group.

    Wow. The Steinbridge firms mission seems like a full circle moment of what his grandmother started nearly one hundred years ago. He mentioned that she purchased homes to bring a housing solution to meet the need of visitors and black folk in general at the time. Through socially geared impact real estate investments, hes doing the same thing all these years later. Amazing.

    As a Richmond native who had many family members who have graduated from Virginia Union… it’s great to see this partnership.     Thank for this video. Being in education of the black person, we have always been able to get in but the topic of when you get a million dollar property, are you doing what it takes to increase its value without believing it will take care of itself and won't deteriorate. If you purchase something at its peak value, you have to maintain its upkeep until the cycle repeats. Even the renters don't value the property. When more people who think like they do move in, they have the nerve to want to move but not all renters are this way. Generational wealth comes from taking care of not getting!!!

    Sounds like this will just make HBCU tuition costs skyrocket up. Part of why they cost less then other universities is because they haven’t been renovated and lack funding. Sounds oddly similar to the same gentrification he criticized in this video. I would love to here his take on this
