Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

I have been using the V1 of this tool for propbably the last 5 years. I mainly bought it since I was doing general contracting and was working a lot on cars and man, the versatility of the tool was just such ab amazing feature that I will probably upgrade to the newer version soon. Honestly, the time and pain I saved when working on my car and simply switching between sockets and normal bits, I just can't see myself without the hybrid anvil anymore.

I got that kit for $129 Canadian , about the same as you with exchange difference darn good deal! It is still selling for that price here.

Great review....I got it recently and I think is a very well made tool and the idea of having two tools in one impact/wrench is brilliant in my opinion...

This was an EXCELLENT video and included everything I could have ever wanted as a viewer and consumer. I love the graphics, indication marks on the impact socket, great commentary. This video deserves more views and ‘likes’.

I had never seen this tool before yesterday and love the idea. And so far it's the only one of it's kind out there from my poking around. I think for your average home owner, or like me that lives in an apartment and won't be using it on a daily basis but does have a need for both tools, it's perfect. This has instantly moved to the top spot on my to buy list!!

it definately seems like a useful tool. i always thought anything over 200ish lbs is quite a bit to go through a 1/4" bit, this could get rid of alot of that anxiety of broken bits. i dont know why this hasent come up more with brands constantly trying to increase torque numbers. i would like to also say that i really appreciate your channel. i watch a couple others but it always seems to be the same tools reviewed over and over. what i mean is a milwalkee gen 3 vs gen 4, milwalkee vs dewalt or makita, same brands or same type tools all the time. while you have had a few milwaukee videos there is a nice mixture, chain saws, pole saws, the bosch freak, shop lights, coolers and such. i would just really like to say thank you for keeping a variety, it really keeps me coming back to your channel and valuing your reviews more over others.

This double ability of the anvil needs to be a thing on all these tools. Most people buying these tools need that versatility. Awesome I'm ordering one right now

It would be nice to see what numbers Tim can get out of those older tools on its testing rig. I say this because pretty much all tools he test score better than on other reviews. EG. No other tool channel has gotten 500 ft/lbs out of a Gen 4 nor Gen 3 Milwaukee. Case in point TTC has got 167 or so on the new Freak, which is less than 10 ft/lbs over the previous Freak and around 188 or so on the Milwaukee. That's when those 200 or so ft/lb difference on Tim's rig translate to only 20 ft/lbs elsewhere which IMHO is not a big deal.

When it did 350 everyone in my house was screaming "leave it alone, let it go undefeated!!'". But yeah I have the first 1800 version that came out and we love it. I've heard this ones even better. Great stuff.

It's slightly better. I traded in the 1800C for the 1860C and although I liked the trigger on the 1800C better, the extra modes on the 1860C + the better LED are IMHO worth it.

Hey Tim, it's nice and refreshing when some other brands appear in your channel. Kudos to you and to Bosch for releasing this kind of tool. I bought mine a couple months ago (owned the previous version as well) and the best attributes are build quality, features and the fact that I no longer spend money replacing 1/2" socket adapters. What I would add to it? Maybe 10-20 ft/lbs of torque but most importantly a quick insert collet (although it must be challenging due to the hybrid collet)

This gun is more useful than anybody else's impact on the market so other people don't know how to do certain things that's on them not Bosch they made a great if you're not smart enough to use it I see the versatility then stick with all the other I'm not biased about but that's one heck of a tool

Its only rated at 147 foot lbs so to me it did an amazing job almost 3 times it rated power.

Definitely a 250lb worker. The fact you got it up to 450 without self-destruction says a lot about how far Bosch's more "innovative" tools have come over the last 10 years.

I've had mine over a year. It's just OK and doesn't do what is advertised. I torqued my trailer rims to 90 lbs. It won't remove them. It's the main reason I bought it.

I got a Bosch Freak kit with 2ahr batt for $129 Canadian D from Lowes last Xmas , there are several Freak models,edit; I guess the difference is the base model I got does not have the TORQUE modes you showed

These drivers make more torque using an adapter rather than going direct to the 1/2in anvil.

this is one of those impact drivers. Do you need it? No, but it's nice to have around. If you are not on the platform, just get it when they are on sale where they are selling it with a free charger and battery. You can get it fairly cheap for around 129 with the bogo

Was it this generation? I had one in my hand for $99 for kit and when I looked closer, it was an older gen. Getting this one from Amazon.

anyone who owns any impacts similar to this with the FREAK head... when you put on a 1/2" socket... does it drop off if working vertically? Mine does and I wasn't sure if it was something missing in the retaining bearing/spring or just a design miss (I assumed mine dropped the bearing retainer but now I'm 2nd guessing myself)...... great video and shocking the torque numbers the little beast was hitting.

The 1800 and 1860 are the ones you want to get. The 1600 is a disappointment and on sale a lot. Lowes also will run Bosch sales of tool with free battery as a gift, so look for that deal.

What are the differences between Gdx 200 C

This would be a perfect engine bay tool, I just wish it could be a 3/8 anvil and not a 1/2. A 3/8 seems to fit its power capabilities better, but I think it might would have issues with the driver bit shaft taking up too much room making the anvil weak.

It’s not. Slow your playback speed, and you can see it in reverse. Also, the directional switch is indeed in reverse.

it does though, with all the torque available on impact drivers nowadays it's very easy to break socket adapters, specially the 1/2" ones. Ever since I bought my first Freak 3 years ago I have never broke a socket adapter because I don't need to buy one anymore.

@@stlyns I actually have the Ridgid subcompact 1/2 wrench as well. It's a brilliant tool for DIY mechanic work, specially lugnuts. The 1/4 hex adapter sounds good and all but you don't get the finesse for eg driving self tapping screws, tapcons or lags and it will likely get lost or at home whenever you need it most. The Freak handles both tasks better and ultimately that's the main application I use my tool for. Either tool can be better than the other, it all depends on your needs but personally I see way more people using (and breaking) 1/2" adapters on their impact drivers than people using 1/4" adapters on their 1/2" impact wrenches. It may also have something to do with availability which is also a tradeoff

@@luisinhoens90 You should go checkout torque test channel testing on this subpar tool. Using 1/4 socket adapter increased the torque.

Still to heavy and slow for an impact driver but to weak for a wrench

When driving screws it is no faster than the Ridgid subcompact that was just review a few days ago. Get a timer and check it. Not impressed at all. Another thing in B mode, why in the world would it be programmed to stop in reverse? Forward not reverse. How annoying would that be when reversing a screw. This thing blows.

It stops in reverse incase you don't want to take the nut off completely, just loosen. Like if the was holding something together and you just wanted to move it a bit and not have it fall apart when you loosen the bolt

This "review" to me seems like a fluff review to make the sponsor happy. BOSCH FREAK is a gimmick. For $20 more you can get Milwaukee Gen4 M18 1/4 hex impact driver (2953-20) that has more power and comes with longer warranty. You really should be honest with viewers if the product was sent to you for free or if you purchased it yourself. (youtube does have a policy about disclosing that information to viewers)

Thing is the Milwaukee doesn't have the 1/2 inch anvil for sockets... So there is a difference. Now if the Milwaukee had that it would be comparable.
