Great in-depth review. I'm looking for a camera that not only records video but also sound. Of the many reviews I have seen this one by far is the best. You, Mike, test the audio recording capability by actually going into a room and speaking. Others, again of the many revs I have seen, test the audio by talking into the phone. You should give lessons on how to Properly do a surveillance camera review. Keep up the great work!

Great review & product Mike. Now have 2 of these & only 2 comments: disconnects from wifi frequently plus Imou have updated their app on android & not fathomed smart settings as yet! Otherwise great to check on home when away especially now have rescue kitten, Molly, to watch over! Thanks for reviewing and guidance on discord Mike👍

For WiFi drop outs try separating the WiFi from your router I have one with one name for 5ghz and one called smart for 2.4g and it works really well like that all the slow traffic on the 2.4

@@Senrab46 I found that even though the router had two networks the same name confused them and they would try and use the connection then be unable to use it and then revert to the fallback frequency. Single name is the way to go

@@mikesunboxing i don't understand your solution? so we should make 2 separate different SSID names on 2.4 ghz and 5ghz? e.g. wifi_2, wifi_5 And which wifi network should the imou connect to to prevent dropout?

@@TylerDurden404 yes these devices need to use 2.4ghz and if there are two networks with the same name it won't connect properly. 2.4ghz is a much stronger strength signal and will travel much farther

Can 2 cameras (located in 2 different cities) fall under 1 single subscription? (I heard 1 subscription covers 4 devices? Or does it need to be 4 in a single location??).... And will the camera reboot by itself, if there is a Power Outage (like if I'm still... far away on holiday, and I can - not - reboot it, at the camera location? thanks!!

please do review of imou Ranger SE 4MP, and how it compares to this? What are the differences between the ranger 2/2c 4MP and ranger SE 4MP also which would you get or which one is better etc?

Ranger SE: can tilt down to -10 degree. Antenna gain: 2.4 dBi Ranger 2C 4MP: only tilt to -5 degree. Antenna gai : 2.84 dBi. I only have the Ranger 2C 1080p and SE 4MP and imho when compare side by side the 2C is better and brighter.

because almost everyone buying this will have a phone, where probably less than 1% will have a NVR and also at the time of review the NVR support for this and other imou devices was patchy at best
