I still have the question about whether a person with Mixed Connective tissue disease which is a combination of 3 different autoimmune diseases Polymyositis/Dermatomyositis, Schleroderma, Lypus. Can they get IVIG? Or can someone with Undifferentiated Connective tissue disease which is a combination of 5 different autoimmune diseases and the top concern being Dermatomyositis. Can they get IVIG? It looks like that question was omitted. Not sure.

The answer is that if DM is clearly involved, yes, Ig may help. Whether or not it’s prescribed / covered would depend on your doctor and insurance. It’s complicated with those two diagnoses as some don’t have symptoms of all three at same time with MCTD so treatments might be tailored differently based on primary symptoms. Be sure to ask your physician. Thanks for the question!
