Immortal Technique is a teacher. His music and interviews have given me (and led me to seek) more knowledge then all my years of formal schooling put together.

Respect: IT always dropping that knowledge...fast fact: The anglicized form of the island that Colombus and his brother "discovered" and terrorized.... "Haiti" is actually mispronounced. The actual form is an H with two dots above the H , this actually is pronounced as "Ayeee" not "Hay". In text "Ayiti" is often used instead of "Haiti" and "Haitians" call themselves "Ayisien" in Kreyol text...which is a language that mixes African, Indigenous , French and Spanish words. "Ayiti" , is in fact how the indigenous people of the island, the Taino; called and pronounced the island (it's also said it was called Quesqueya and there are locations and institutions to this fact all over the island.). Also, the people of Haiti call themselves "Ayisien" not "Haitian" when speaking with one another, where ever I can I correct myself on the mispronounciation when speaking to people who are ignorant of this historical fact. It is important as it brings to mind how strongly connected the revolutionary African revolutionaries of the time were to the indigenous roots that had by this time become a part of their bloodlines. They called it Ayiti as an homage to the Indigenous Taino who were their ancestors via admixture to a degree now being revealed through genetic testing. Though today the island is one of the least admixed islands in the Caribbean in terms of contributions from non African sources there are still sizable admixture in peoples across the island from Indigenous and European sources. I stand an example of this fact...my admixture is predominantly West African being a first generation American born Ayisien but I am also nearly 20% European (of various contributions owing to a strong Pirate element in the island before and after the revolution) and also 1.4% Taino. The elements of self hate and division ... unfortunately strongly emerged from the Dominican side of the island as a rejection of the revolution that liberated them from slavery and Spanish control in 1822 and culminated in the treachery of the so called "Trinitario" in 1844 when they were able to regain Spanish assistance to take independence from a then significantly reduced Ayisien central government that was busy suffering a then 20 + year European embargo coupled with paying France reparations (yes you read that right, Ayiti paid France billions of dollars for revenue lost from the self emancipation of those slaves via the revolution of 1803) placed as punishment

It is my another frank statement about him. In 2010 I was drinking alcohol with cola with someone who had murdered own mother using knife. The name of murderer was Dariusz, he is Polish, he have some brothers, and he had rap group which wasn’t famous at all. In comparison to him, Immortal Technique is absolutely none, and his rap about Billy Jacobs who killed mother is bedtime story. Let’s say he confessed raping and killing woman. What is the result? One year in jail. Lol. I could go to jail for one year for selling cocaine, and color my story like riding an unicorn on a rainbow like him. Would you like to know what is it like to look straight into eyes of mother murderer? Who stabbed her to death? There is emptiness in his eyes and I never gonna forget it. But when you look on Immortal Technique it is deceit. 🙂 Dance with the devil in real => 🦄🌈

The Songhai empire sold African tribes they captured into slavery if they did not convert to Islam; if they did convert to Islam, they were not sold into slavery. But IT says it's still white peoples fault because they had the power to depose kings if they said they wouldn't do that? As if that was the reason and west african tribes didn't sell among each other, lol. The funny thing is he says this to alleviate guilt right after he talks about how nobody submits when they are slaves.

But that’s a really racist ideology “it’s still white people’s fault” no dude. There are tons of different types of white people who are completely different. The Irish were slaves themselves, the Swedish were innocent people, the ENTIRE WORLD has owned slaves of all colors and creeds. To label people like you did because of their melonin, you’re perpetuating the very tribalism you hate.
