He is so illogical, not smart. It's so easy to talk this shit in a free world, I would like to see how he would also speak openly somewhere in Islamic countries where hip hop is haram. There are so many dictatorial regimes in the world, but he chose to talk shit about free world living in free world! So what so intellectual about it?

Lower because he doesn't control the means of production of the economy lol. If you want to consider his independence as a rapper, then maybe upper since he isn't signed under a label and owns his own intellectual property.

@@kdog6231 He's talking about a two class system, workers vs factory owners where one is oppressed, the thing is, even Neo-marxists don't accept this theory, from Gramsci to Bordeaux, who highlight both the rulers concession to its subjectified class and also that people aren't separated by class absolutely because things like social capital exist, therefore, it's not black and white. We have about 7-9 classes in the UK, not two. This idea is older than evolution theory and Tech is saying it like its been written as a law of economics.

@@RenaissanceMan29 Also to add, I like Tech a lot and believe generally speaking, he has the right idea on how society should behave and function, although I will admit he's obviously not a prestigious economist by any means lol. With that being said, I think he was just referencing Marx and Smith and pointing out the similarity there, but yes you're right, definitely more nuance there undoubtedly.

@@kdog6231 If you want to read about social class, you want to read sociology. There are some names I mentioned above, like Gramsci and Bordeaux, but you can read Durkheim which is opposed to Marxism, or read Max Weber, who were both around not long after him.

@@kdog6231he does it multiple times, but the major one for me was using Covid as a stand alone example that there’s “no middle class” without ever defining what he’s using as a metric for middle class. He uses one narrative regarding Covid and the lockdowns (which I agree was tyrannical) and doesn’t mention the outliers like Florida and Texas, showing the people do have power based on who they elect. Also, idk what he means by “no middle” class, being you can literally find data showing the US has per capita the largest middle class in the world, so again idk how he’s defining middle class when it’s something that can easily be proven based on the general def of middle class. I’m sure there other fallacies you could link to this but the drastic jump from Covid lockdowns to no middle class with no evidence was the main one lol

@@Jim_Bag So in terms of that, I think you're missing the part where he distinguishes between the working class and those who own the means of production. And let me explain further because I listen to Tech a lot and he sometimes goes on rants where a lot of information is spoken together in consolidation and it could be very easy to misinterpret some of the points along the way as a result. What Tech was trying to establish to those listening is that the lockdowns revealed that it doesn't matter if you're in the "middle class", you still got fucked and robbed and are currently being robbed. Meanwhile corporate profits soared at the same time that people were either losing their homes or their jobs, and the rich got richer. The middle class is really just a hierarchical mirage, and as long as you don't control the means of production and the flow of commerce and capital, then in reality you are no different than the class below you because you're always much closer to becoming homeless and losing your assets than you are to becoming a millionaire and rising to the next echelon that you believe is above you. That is the premise that he was attempting to convey.
