    No, people just don’t realize how stupid they are. If they were observant and open minded, sought to understand different things instead of being intolerant, they would make the same connections. Basically that describes the concept of a liberal college education. All the extra stuff you learn about in undergrad that isn’t directly relevant to your major. The useless crap so many talk about. Being a college educated individual at least a few semesters he knows what I’m talking about. Learning don’t stop after high school, East coast rap used to be intellectual dunno what happened

    This guy is a Communist but won't even see the enemy has been Democrat policies on both fronts. I would say BIDENs 1994 Crime Bill was a huge factor in modern America, but the closing of mental asylums was also a huge factor. "In the 1960s, liberals emptied our psych wards, only to fill our streets and ultimately our prisons with the mentally ill." Since at least the 1930s, policymakers have sought to cut costs through "de-institutionalization" - removing people from inpatient settings. This accelerated during the 1950s, with the advent of antipsychotic medications. These medications significantly reduced symptoms for people with conditions ranging from schizophrenia to bipolar disorder and improved their chances at finding jobs and participating in their community. Much of the shift to deinstitutionalization occurred after the passage of two pieces of legislation under Democratic Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. The first law, enacted in 1963, was the Community Mental Health Act, which aimed to fund community-based treatment facilities as an alternative to institutionalization. The second law, enacted in 1965, was Medicaid, which made payments to "institutions for mental diseases" ineligible for federal reimbursement. From 1955 to the 2010s, state and county psychiatric institutions’ resident populations fell by 93%, from more than half a million to about 37,000.

    Policing + mental health is ideal but of course that is hella expensive in a country where are tax dollars go to bullsh*t that isn't in the interest of the people. Also, there is no way to keep police to be level headed people unfortunately. It's impossible to keep all police not going overboard with their power. We have researched this in psychology. Power dynamic is impossible to control even with as much training as possible

    @@joescaletta9665 ok. So what I mean is, that he never proclaims to be a follower of Jesus through his songs, never confessed that Jesus is LORD. I haven’t seen many of his interviews so maybe at some point he spoke on it. He may have a lot of knowledge about the Bible and the Quran but he doesn’t profess either to be his god….there are many false gods that people believe in so it doesn’t seem to be clear who he believes is the one true God. Something that I love about Felipe is that he helps his community through his Rebel Army charity. He’s been my favorite MC since I first heard his songs in 2006-2007…I remember being in 8th grade when I downloaded “The Prophecy” on Limewire and got hooked on a lot of his other songs

    The function of the police is protection of property and social control, not " fighting crime". What is "crime" but a source of revenue. It has little to do with right or wrong, it loosely follows the most prevealent societal morality of the time, but is subject to change on the whims of the state.

    Part of the issue is the police can’t do anything until a crime has happened. You can’t stop something that hasn’t happened yet. The idea is their presence is supposed to deter people from committing crimes or breaking the law for the fear of being arrested and put in jail (losing your freedom)

  • @mynamejeff3545

    @mynamejeff3545

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah but we all know that doesn't work. Of course, the prospect of being caught could be used to prevent crime (as is the case everywhere) but having cops everywhere causes more trouble than it prevents. It puts people on edge, and the police will inevitably start harassing random people because they have nothing better to do. And that's ignoring the long-term effects of over-policing on low-income communities. Poverty breeds crime, and having overzealous cops lock away people for petty crimes (or no crime at all) sure as hell doesn't address the root cause of the problems, only makes it worse. Police can't prevent crime, only policy can. Let's focus on the latter ibstead of pumping money into the former.

    @@videogameguy101His argument is that criminals are criminals because of ‘mental health’. That is certainly not the case for the overwhelming amount of criminals, as there are an unlimited amount of reasons why someone would want to commit a crime. He believes that they are not in their “right minds”, which he cannot substantiate at all.

    @TheRealDyscyples the fact they're criminals kind of proves it.... that's the point. You're looking for substantiation when the existence of the crime is the proof.

    @@Xirrious It’s not the point. Not everyone who are “criminals” have problems with “mental health”. Mental health is a common scapegoat, and the idea behind it is that these individuals would be upstanding citizens if they were not experiencing a chemical imbalance that they could not control. The logic is preposterous.

    The police is a recent invention no older than 200 years, for the absolute majority of our existence it hasn’t been needed nor has any similar institution been needed. The police was created to defend private property and the capital of the bourgeoisie and it keeps doing that. The immediate thing to do is to change what class controls the state. Then we can change the objective of the police, from protecting property to workers. In the long run a classless society would mean the necessity of the state disappears so then it follows that the necessity of police goes away as well
