no , only the principal applicant will go to the interview to review the case and medical

yes but you might want to have more evidence of a ongoing relation with you and your son like screen shots of conversations or video calls screen shots , money transfers, any proof that show supporting ongoing relationship

Don’t panic if you don’t understand something, be honest and ask the officer to repeat what they said. They work with thousands of people from other countries and they are trained to be able to communicate effectively. But definitely let them know if you’re having a hard time understanding or ask them to repeat what they said.

Although interviews inside the US require that you bring all originals to the interview, I am not sure about beneficiaries who are interviewing at the NVC stage. You may have to see what they say in the interview invitation letter.
