You should not be allowed benefits in a country you move to for at least 2 years. Until you have paid into their tax system. That will stop people coming to Britain for benefits.

Anyone who invited Roma to England without doing their homework (like finding out what the "racism" in eastrn european countries is about) is to blame. @@caroline4323, my partner is Hungarian, her neighbours in Hungary were Roma, they moved in next door to her about three months after she bought her house and now she is stuck with a house out there that she can't sell. She's asking for 50% of its real value and prospective buyers come to view it twice a week. Every time they do, the Roma neighbours make a massive show of frightening them away because they want to buy the house for less than my partner paid twenty years ago for it! The people who decided to let them into Britain, the people who somehow decided that we, the British taxpayers, owe them something, NEVER have to live in the areas they move to. They are rich enough to burden less fortunate people with them as neighbours. I'd love to force them to have Roma neighbours for a year. They'd soon change their tune! It's heartbreaking for my partner, when she moved to England, she thought she was finally escaping Roma neighbours, now she finds that she has them again. I'd vote for any political party who would throw them out of Britain and bar them from re-entry, they only take from us and spoil our neighbourhoods.

Furthermore... don't you find it ironic that in the same 10 minute clip inwhich they talk about the English people feeling dumped and isolated, we're dumping and isolating them? Basically saying "These people might work harder, we kind of prefer them, so what if you're British, screw you." Isn't that awful? Whatever happened to sticking up for your own people? What happened to caring about each other? This is why this country is a mess because we have no COMMUNITY anymore, we have no loyalty to anything. We just discard people if we can't see a use in them and find someone better. The woman in this video with the kids was born and raised in this country and we should care about our own because that's what a community IS. That's what belonging is and it's the exact OPPOSITE of isolation. But the political elite could never understand this because all they care about is money.

Adam McKenna Well it's up to us to do what we can to get them back into work. But comparing immigrants with descendants of the original settlers of this country is not a reasonable comparison. As well as being jobless and a 'burden on the state', the immigrants shouldn't even be in this country so they shouldn't have to be any type of burden on the state at all. We have no obligation to help and feed them, never mind house them here. And this is the problem. Pointless burdens like this suck all the money dry for people of this country who we are obliged to help.

Do you live among larger community or did you move with your family somewhere more "private"? I am just curious. Because I believe it is difficult. One of my friends at work was a Roma and wanted to move to Canada so that nobody could identify her as a gypsy (honestly, at first I thought she was originally Indian or Pakistani or something), but I guess that means she will live only with the closest family there..

Also a tax free bonus should be paid to the woman to get sterilized. Men should also receive a tax free bonus to get sterilized. The fewer kids, the bigger the bonus. NOTE: Gypsies pay a "Bride price" to the girl's family. Why not give them an incentive to stop having lots of children. Traditional Muslim culture also has a Bride price ("Mahar"). Traditional Hindu and Buddhist cultures have doweries.

I lived down that street for a short while back in the 90s when it was Kosovan refugees etc escaping war and now it still attracts immigrants, Economic migrants who want a better life than in Slovakia or Romania. Its always been the poorest area of Cliftonville in Margate and will remain so with high unemployment and economic migrants who also rely on the benefits system for support.

They might travel in the summer but they have a "home-base" with a regular house or "double-wide" mobile/ manufactured home (as do many in the Southern USA (no need for a cellar if it dosen't get cold) In Ireland they call a "double-wide" a "Chalet"/"Chateau"

In Slovakia you were a Gypsy (and with the experience of the majority treated like one). In England you can be from anywhere, a bit of colour, and you´re treated based on your work.. There is no integration when people come in their millions with no pressure to speak the language or even need to speak to any English people. They attend foreign speaking places of worship, taught in their own language and and only socialise with each other because there's so many of them. Brits are exactly the same in Spain. If you have a large number of people moving in at once you can never get integration

Ok people coming to Japan or the Uk or Pakistan should learn the language spoken there because you need it to communicate and to go up the ladder in that country. But people speaking their own languages shouldn’t be an issue as they have their own culture and that’s fine. A lot of romani people feel alienated by non romanis and they don’t feel respected or valued the same as non romanis and this is not new. Romani people have been the most discriminated and persecuted group in Europe for centuries.

True. But so is the modern world that uses tractors rather than horses to farm. The alternative is to give them their own country. But that has not worked out too well in the Middle East because the land given to Israel was occupied by Palestian Arabs. Although, there were some Jews whose ancestors had not left the Middle East living there. I don't think that the native Romanians want to give up a portion of their country to form the new Gypsy Homeland. Those living in Rajasthan and Punjab would NOT want to allow their fellow native Indians from that area (i.e. Gypsies) to take over their land either.

These days it's full of "immigrants" from Shoreditch and Hackney, looking for their next item of conspicuous middle-class consumption - a place in Margate. They're all very right-on and anti-racist but ignore the fact they pushed the Roma out. The Romas never caused my rent to raise 10% per year.

Stupid benefits system in UK make people to do fckall... I am immigrant in UK, and I work here since I came, never had a thing in my head to be on benefits or something. As a immigrant I support UKIP, and I would like to see reforms of benefit system. The only thing what I am not agree with some of Brits, is that they are saying they cant find a job because of immigrants. In UK there is plenty of jobs, if you are not living somewhere in mountains.

I somewhat forgive that woman her ignorance - at least she made an effort to see the immigrants as people - but she didn't grow up in care because of the fantastic quality of people she has in her family. And she hasn't lost her kids because she's such a great asset to the nation.

I'd rather a lot of the immigrants were on benefits instead of in workplaces because working in places that are full of immigrants isn't good..bosses don't care about their staff anymore because they know if a british person leaves the job there's plenty of immigrants that will accept poorer condition and keep the wages low so now in most companies with unskilled or semi skilled labor every worker is just a number on a computer program and nobody is appreciated the way they used to be. It won't be long before our conditions in work and other places are just as bad as they are in eastern europe and poorer countries.

The EU is a Franco-German project. There is no reason why factories could not be encouraged to open in eastern Europe. There is no reason to subsidize China when there are Europeans who need jobs.

@@ayingchanda Poles, Slovaks, Romanians would not have come to the UK, if it had not joined the EU. They would have found jobs in France and Germany. Which begs the question: What people willing to accept very low wages would have come to the UK? If the Poles, Slovaks, Romanians had been in Germany in large numbers, Merkel would have not felt the need to open the borders to all of those "doctors" and "teachers"/sarc. from the Middle East and South Asia. BTW: Neither Gypsy or Muslim culture are compatible with Western European culture. Both Ireland and UK were making progress in settling their own native traveling people before the EU floodgates were opened.

I used to visit margate at the weekends as a child with my family.. later as a young man in my twenties I visited margate with friends regularly it was a pleasent seaside town to spend weekends. it now looks like a slum. dont blame the unfortunate class of english left to rot in these forgotten towns. blame successive governments & yes the ridiculous immigration policys of the people who govern. the english are being systematically culled by the immigration system.
