My ancestors came from Britain here to Australia in 1852. . But I am not allowed to live in Britain, and have to go through the "Alien" gate if I visit. Remarkably, Australia reciprocates , and makes it difficult for British to migrate here. We seem to prefer Indians and Chinese.

Was there an immigration issue pre 2004? I didn't think or talk about immigration until it affected my Livelihood. I had a thriving little business as an all rounder in the building trade=Electrical,Plumbing,Carpentry,Painting & decorating etc, I had many regular customers, a lot of them were builders & the phone was ringing all the time=But Then! Tony Blair thought it would be a good idea to open the door to a Monumental influx of cheap Labour from mainly Poland to start with, My phone stopped ringing & my regular customers were now using mainly Polish workers to do the same jobs I do because they were willing to do the work for half the price & sometimes even quarter of the price that I charge & so my livelihood was destroyed, this made me feel extremely Angry & depressed especially when I would walk past a building site or a property that was having work done on It & hear nothing but Eastern European Languages, I was in Despair & UKIP were the only Party that listened & understood my concerns & would fight my corner. Please Put Ya Listening ears on all You People that think anyone who voted Brexit wants to stop immigration. We don't want to stop immigration=WE JUST WANT THE UK TO HAVE A SENSIBLE FAIR & CONTROLLED IMMIGRATION SYSTEM=SIMPLES!

I hear you Marc!! I know exactly where you're coming from here! I was stuck in a minimum wage warehouse/WORKHOUSE job for years, under a supervisor who, for no apparent reason, absolutely hated me and made no secret of it! I was dying a slow death! Lol So i decided to train as a HGV Class 2 driver. It cost me £1600 to get through it and I eventually passed the HGV driving test the 2nd time I took it! Phew! But when i started applying for HGV driving jobs I could only get short term agency work! Yes...the money is better but there's no job security, no holiday pay, no sick pay....nothing! Why? You ask!!.....Because the jobs market is flooded with Polish drivers who are willing to take less money because they live ten people to a house and have very little overheads because of this!!! Sending all their money home!!

The debate was based on a questionnaire that asked whether people still thought immigration was an issue, many of whom agreed it was. I would argue that migration from EU countries isn't the issue. Many Europeans returned to their countries because they were made to feel unwanted in the UK over Christmas and didn't come back. They now work in other countries in the EU where they are welcomed with open arms. The gentleman asked a pertinent question towards the end of the debate that over £2 billion is rendered in taxes to the government. That's £2 billion that isn't spent on infrastructure that would alieviate the problem of poor housing, overcrowded schools, hospitals and GP surgeries but the government is being dishonest in taking the money and not using it correctly. Where are our taxes going? Why are we now being asked to pay more for the NHS when the treasury is swilling around in money? At that point they program concluded but the questions remain. If ordinary people have had to pull their belts in over the past 10 years, it's time the government did the same. We already pay too much tax.

Weve already seen what happens. They dont intigrate, they see us as a soft touch. They want our benefits and nhs but not our way of life

Each side often groups immigrants together as either having a good or bad effect, when in reality whether immigration is good or not depends on the actual immigrants being brought in and what they can bring to the country. Some bring hard work, kindness, good food, etc. Some bring criminality, prejudiced views, instability, etc. I agree with what the guy at 3:29 says in that we should have a high level of control over who we bring in to our country. I think we should also take the steps necessary to effectively integrate the new citizens. Ensure they speak our language and get rid of faith schools for example as well as other things that separate us.

Why doesn't the Polish guy just apply for British citizenship and keep it irregardless of the feeling of having to prove it, as long as he meets the legal requirements? He can still move back to Poland or wherever he wants to.

There are too many forenner's in the UK. Why this migrants will not stay in their own countries and develop them.

We should adopt Australia's immigration policy. Except for Ireland, Wales and Scotland. The British Isles are one Kingdom.

The gulfs between the upper echelons of society, how ever well meaning, and those struggling to make ends meat are really apparent. If you don’t truly have to worry about money, home ownership, community safety and job prospects due to having ‘great skills and qualifications’ how can you understand the tribal like actions and protectionist attitudes of those Britons living amongst the chaos of the streets. Countries like USA & CA economically and space/ size wise are able to absorb immigrations in a totally different scale to that of U.K. Population density is bursting in U.K. Health and infrastructure services are v appealing to all who are outside. UK immigration has to be managed: despite the well meant intent of the educated ‘Some’ The naturally born Britons should have a fair and first crack at the whip of life.

I feel most immigration is fueled by the idea that England will give u the basics and much more to a immigrate. We need to make it clear on the world stage that Britain has a budget just like every other country has. The problem of immigration is quite simple if done correctly. Fix the problems in their own country and there will be no need for anyone to leave their mother land. If all of the worlds charity money is managed by one organization who are totally transparent of where the money is going then I think real ground level progress will happen. It will take time but long term it will be beneficial for all, help build the problem country from ground level which will give work to the country people. I think there is enough money in the world to build and help their country to prosper. It's just mismanagement.

Numbers and culture are the issue. Some cultures despise western values and wish not to assimilate. Our idiotic governments have allowed the failed multiculturism for far too long.

The tory MP in the audience perfectly demonstrates why they are so pointless. It is government that forms the terms under which a sector of society operates. Government sets out the terms whether its is ease of access to health care or education for instance, or how difficult it becomes. Therefore government is ultimately responsible for these policies. Government has given people a fait accompli of all their policies instead of explaining why some laws are being implemented and taking 5 people with them, large numbers of migrants have been allowed in without the necessary infrastructure to accommodate these numbers, leading to the sense of being overwhelmed. If he and successive governments do not feel this is something that should have happened then it shows politicians are a waste of space, they should all be sacked and people who can do the job properly should be elected.

If you think our forefathers own or run the Bank of England, you need to educate yourself about the rothschilds. England, along with other countries are being managed as economic outposts, hosting hostile invaders. They are not corporations, they are homelands for the people that built them and established culture, tradition and an enviable way of life. Not this violent, insecure melting pot of aliens in competition for housing and healthcare. All non European foreigners need to leave.
