Darts is something I found people are either good or there not. Non complex grips being something you can replicate every time. A dart and weight that also compliments your throw style. People that throw darts toward the front of the barrel shouldn’t use a center or rear balanced dart and vise versa. That’s the biggest flaw I see is players not using the correct dart for there throw.

This is my very first time playing darts. Always asking the players how they do it or am I the only who's hand eye coordination sucks? I will be aiming for the black/white of the 20 and end up hitting everything else but the 20. Not even to talk about the big double closing on a 301/501 or 701. Is there any hope for this girl, ever?

Some of the comments are so negative, I thank you for making this video. You are doing a great job, keep up the helpful hints and dont let a couple of a**holes ruin your day. And. You do have nice calves. Much love from SantaRosa Ca

Can't disagree with anything here - some great tips! Here's something to consider - holding the dart out further gives you more room for error but conversely, it also gives your brain more time to adjust that error. A short backswing has to be spot on every time otherwise it'll compromise the throw, but I guess that could be said about any throw. Different strokes for different folks at the end of the day. If there was one best way, then the pros would all be doing the same thing. Fundamentals are key but so is finding your comfort and style. Your calves are also crazy toned.

Follow through is very important but it comes naturally in the end you can't really force a follow through it's just about being limp and relaxed not tense 👌

I have been playing darts for about 38 years now and have made several changes to my stance and throw over the years. I was just wondering why you don't stand on both of your feet when you throw. You are basically standing on 1 foot? I think your stance would be much more stable if you were to stand on both feet. You have a very stable throw, You are not moving anything but your arm and that is great. You do not have an excessive forward lean and that is also good, but I think if you stood on both of your feet and kept both feet flat on the floor you would have and even better solid stance and throwing from a solid stable stance can only help your accuracy. Stand in your dart Stance and have your wife or a friend give you a little push and see how stable you are? Then stand with your front foot the same in position to the throw line with both feet flat on the floor about shoulder width apart. Then lean slightly forward toward the board with about 60% on your weight on your forward foot and 40% on tour back foot. you should have a strait vertical line up the front of your body from your ankle to your hip and to your armpit. Have your wife give you another little push and feel the difference in your stability in that new stance. Give it a try. and feel the difference. This stance has helped me to have a more accurate throw. I just found your videos today. I just watched your throw like Peter Wright video. I think you are spot in with working on your follow through, great advice for anyone working on throwing darts. I was a stabby thrower like you were stopping my arm short of fallow through. When I started to follow through my stray 1's and 5' improved a lot. I think I was stopping my arm short because I was getting pain in my elbow at the bottom of my Biceps. I was stopping my arm to try not to hyperextend my elbow, thinking that was causing the pain in my elbow. In fact that was the cause of the pain. It was the shock on my biceps tendon from constantly stropping my arm from naturally following through on the shot. Once I started to actually follow through the pain has been gone. Did you ever get any pin in your elbow at the bottom of your Biceps when you were not following through and stopping your arm short? and did it stop when you started to follow through? Any way that is about enough for now. Great content so far, well made videos and great edits and camera angles. Try that stance and get pushed a few times and you will see what I mean. keep both feet flat on the floor you might loose an inch or two in lean, but the stability in your stance will more than make up for it. I am going to the board now to try your tip on the slow pull back and see how it works for my throw. I have a relaxed throw now but the slow pull back might be exactly what my throw needs. I will give it a try and let you know how I make out. Try that solid stance out and see how it works for you. It might be good content for another video. CHEERS from Canada!! & SHOOT E'm STRAIT!!! Sorry for the long comment, but I just cant stop myself sometimes when talking about darts.

Nice input on the follow thru - it really is the most important aspect to a throw imo. I always regret under throwing the dart more than I do by over throwing it. I use a little more arc than your dart, so I throw a bit slower. Your posture is ideal - I need to work on mine. Cheers and thanks for the upload!
