As a woman who finds “fish/fishy” to be tacky and misogynistic because of its origins, I gotta say.. I disagree with these newer voices suddenly likening drag to blackface but with the female form. I’ve always felt that at its core, drag is a celebration of women and femininity. It makes me feel empowered whether the queen doesn’t pad or has Jimbo-sized breastplates. It’s art, it’s not meant to be serious all the time, it’s DRAG. I know misogyny permeates all facets of society (LGBTQ+ culture included) but I perceive the heart of drag to be reverence for women. And frankly, it’s just about the only space on earth where that’s the case so like.. can we let the queens be queens in whatever way they choose as long as they’re not actively insulting our genitalia?

In principle, yes. Drag is wonderful. But in this particular case, Jimbo is simply mocking my body shape in a very nasty 70s mainstream cis male way. This does not affect all women. If a cis small cup woman would have worn and acted like that, I would still feel like I was punched in the stomach. I don't feel like that when I watch Jaymes for instance. Breasts are a part of my actual body, it is not the same gendered clothing, makeup, behaviors, etc.

I love how much some gay men love women. Shea's tribute to her mother? Gets ne every time. Also, I don't use a lot of crass language myself, but for some reason am not at all insulted when people under the umbrella say things like step your p***y up, etc, or when Law Roach used his very highest compliment on Legendary... his catchphrase was PG, but if he loved loved loved a performance, it was *c**t. I guess its who is saying it and how, if I feel the love I'll take the compliment so fervently offered.

I’m sure there are women with body types similar to yours who don’t feel personally attacked by Jimbo’s drag. But that doesn’t make your feelings less valid. ​@@grayk3803 Unfortunately, you might be right, many women have internalized misogyny and are used to seeing this type of body ridiculed. I remember the conversation around Trixie's number in a wheelchair. Some people in wheelchairs didn't mind it, others did. My point is that either you think drag is an artform where it is ok to make fun of All body types - different ethnicities, sizes, etc. - which is what I believe, or for some reason (like the drag race fandom), you make this one specific exception.

Basically Heidi contacted Joshuan for an outfit for All Stars and he completely ghosted her. Then she went to the Queerties and saw him there. He chatted with all the Ru Girls and then when he got to Heidi he called her “prickly.” She originally thought he said that because of a beard but he said it was because of her attitude.
