How does one combat that to the fullest besides stretching and vitamins at that level of play and size. I wonder do they purposely factor these things in to weed out the amount of players knowing the rate of injury.

It's hard to make a play if the ball is always snapped at #9's ankles.

@@The_Blaxk_Dream00 nope. After MD beat IMG some years ago, they wont allow a California team to play a team thats not in a real league. IMG doesnt have a league thats why they dont enter any playoffs. So no team from cali will play them because they cant.

@@Vaipou that is correct. Illinois in the 90s has (had) strict rules as well. There was a great cross country team (Elmhurst York) that was invited to compete in Nike Nationals XC in Oregon- which they ended up winning against the best teams in the country. So they don't break the IHSA rules, they competed out of pocket under the team name Kroy; which is York spelled backwards. If St. John Bosco or any other Cally team is going to play IMG, they will have to do what Elmhurst did years ago. I don't know if that will ever happen because the finances and planning involved is much more complex than cross country. Then again, these private, Jesuit-affiliated schools may have the money. Either way, let the games begin!!

IMG definitely has the most talent in the nation and all those kids are going somewhere big. I’d like to see how they’d do against the top 5 schools. It seems they play more like a allstar team that’s only been together for 2 weeks and make quite a bit of mistakes. With all that talent, there’s no reason Venice should have been able to make as many stops as they did, but hell who knows.

@@keganlafevers419 I think img has 7, 5-star recruits and 11, 4-star recruits. So “on paper” IMG is twice as talented as mater dei which has 7 or so 4-stars and no 5-stars. The whole star system is stupid and I think even with the talent difference, that game would be close.

If you put the best of the best that can travel in one conference it would be better. Also majority of these topic schools can definitely travel. Or have a playoffs for the ranked teams to play each other meat up in Vegas or something and play at Bishop Gorman or at a neutral site and play.

IMG is a private school not associated with FHSAA rules and recruit the best HS players not just in the US but Internationally. It’s really tough to put them against a regular HS with players strictly inside their zoned district. Also- how many Seniors did Venice lose from last season. This type of matchup really isn’t comparable

Do high school baseball teams schedule AAA teams to play during the season?

Venice center was playing scared. Bad snaps led to some bad timing on the throws. QB hopefully was told to hold a football all week while going to class. It could have been a lot worse. A lot of people do not realize IMG is an all star team. There is a reason they are not a part of the FHSAA. Kudos to Venice playing them, that is the hardest team they will play all season. Venice will win another state championship this year, especially since I believe they are in the Suburban Division now instead of Metro.

I didn’t even realize IMG has 3 of the top 10 players for the class of 2024. 4 players on top 25. Jesus!!! The whole state of California has 1 player in the top 25.
